Would ya look at this? I'm actually posting Snippet Wednesday on *gulp* a Wednesday!!!
AHHHHH!!! The dead rise from the grave! Seas boil! Dogs and cats... living together!! MASS HYSTERIA!!
That's enough of this silliness!
Dupes
For those of you running multiple iOS devices or any sort of combination of smart phone and tablet, do you duplicate apps across both of them? Katie and I were having this discussion last night and I mentioned that I do have some things on both devices, like Echofon (Twitter), Facebook, and a couple others. She says she has her iPhone for some things and her iPad for others. For the most part she doesn't duplicate efforts. Not to say that one way is right or wrong, but which way do you all lean? Color me curious.
Tails
This past weekend, Katie and I saw the new movie Red Tails about the Tuskegee Airmen project in WWII. I walked out of the film kinda torn. The dogfight sequences were pretty spectacular in terms of how they looked. I was readily impressed, but you would expect nothing less coming from Lucasfilm. And that's where my internal conflict arises... it's Lucasfilm. While not directed by George Lucas, he did produce it and his mark is all over the film in terms of rushed stories, overloaded plot, bad dialogue, etc. It really felt like either The Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones, but set in 1944 and with far fewer aliens.
I was really looking forward to seeing this movie because I'm a junkie for movies and books about WWII, but I left empty. I hate when that happens. I really wanted to like this film.
Steel
On the topic of movies, have any of you watched Real Steel about Hugh Jackman building and training a boxing robot with his son? This is a movie I'm very curious about as well, but was far more tentative about paying to see in the theater. So I never did. But it came out yesterday on DVD and part of me still wants to see it, but another part of me thinks robots... boxing... and then I turn tail and run. So, worth it? Not?
Linkin
I was having a really bad day at work on Monday. Just all kinds of stuff going on and it was difficult to keep up so I was getting frustrated. As I'm wont to do when this happens, on the way home, I bluetoothed my iPhone to my car stereo and picked out Linkin Park's "Feint," "Breaking the Habit," and "Bleed It Out." My favorite thing to do is to rap the parts and, in my own head at least, I'm pretty good at it. And it always makes me feel better. The stress just drains out of me. Do any of you have a ritual you do to get through stressful times? I'd be curious to hear about it.
Next
Insofar as my New Year's Resolution to read 20 books goes, I'm on my third and anticipate having it done by this weekend. I've got a few others I'm contemplating right now, but I cannot decide which to read. Maybe you can help me. The choices are Seth Grahame-Smith's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Max Brooks' World War Z, Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange, or Terry Pratchett's Guards! Guards!. What say you all? Help!
Well, I'm outta here. Enjoy your day!
