And I swear...

I like to swear. I'm very good at it. I'm not talking Al Pacino level or anything. I mean, that dude can swear like nobody's business. I do strive to be like him, though.

Well, I did anyway. Until the point in time where Katie and I found out that she was pregnant. That lifetime of dedication to the fine art of verbal cursing came to a screeching halt. I'm told that kids are sponges and, whether you realize it or not, they pick up what those around them say and do and feel.

I'm just an Earth-bound misfit, I...

Despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of people and those odd little tests seem to think that we are having a boy, the only names that we have wholly decided on so far are for girls. We have two of them, in fact.

And if you think I'm sharing those names with you, you're off your rocker. They be locked up tighter than a steel bear trap. Those are OURS!

But I do find it funny just how difficult we've found it to be to come up with boys names. There is always some reason or another why we don't want to use this name or that.

If I were green, I would die...

You'd really think that with a mind that derails and runs off course as readily as mine does, that putting together a Snippet Wednesday would be a breeze, wouldn't you?

You would be wrong. And that's just sad.

I'm starting to wonder if, like I did in the past with song lyrics, I should run a regular thing where I have you all submit a weblink to me and I comment on it as one of my weekly Snippets. Would you all go for that or too

Maybe I'll try it just to see how it takes.

In the meantime, though, sit back and enjoy another round of Snippets.

Shake-shake, shake it like a rattlesnake...

Several television networks have been releasing their "upfronts" over the course of the last week. This is basically how they announce what their fall schedule will be and how we find out which of our favorite shows will and won't be returning for another season.

I tend to go through and pick apart each network when the upfronts come out, but I don't really think I'm going to be doing that this year. I think I'm just going to point out a few of what I deem to be the highlights of the announcements.

What’s it gonna be…

It's kinda funny to see how polarized people can be regarding us finding out the gender of our forthcoming progeny. They either support us in our decision to not find out or freak out that we're not going to know and, thus, allow them the ability to make purchases for a specific-gendered baby. There really is no in-between on this debate. Nobody saying, "meh, whatevs."

Katie and I feel, however, that there are so few opportunities to be genuinely surprised in life that we may as well take full advantage of this chance.

It's not your fault...

I got so caught up in all the follow-up from our announcement on Tuesday night and the fact that I was off from work both Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday, that I completely mixed up my days yesterday.

I, gulp, forgot Snippet Wednesday!!!

Please forgive me, oh great Snippet! I didn't mean to. It was merely an oversight, honestly!

To honor the great Snippet, I present you with Snippet Thursday: The Reckoning!

Like the moon and the stars and the sun...

As you know, I've become an Instagram junkie over the course of the last year and a half. At first, it was never easy to share what you take with friends unless you had your account tied to social media such as Facebook or Twitter. Then we got the ability to add to Flickr. Then the system opened up to Android phones instead of just the iPhone.

Now we have one other new way... and a chance for me to potentially make money as well!

I need time to stop moving...

What is it about day's off not actually being true "day's off"? I remember when I was a kid, having a day off meant that I was running around outside playing all day long with my friends.

Now? I'm doing laundry and flushing a drain in our mudroom and, well, I am watching Doctor Who so I guess that counts as "recreation." Damn, just disproved my own thesis statement. Way to go, Kapgar.

I'm going to shut up now and recap my progress toward my New Year's Resolutions. Sound good?
