Snippet Wednesday... I am in you.
Doesn't that sound dirty?
Karlipoo
Do you have any idea how excited I am by the return to blogging of Karl Erikson? I've missed the guy. Sure, I've gotten some comedic fix from him via Facebook, but I always dug his blogging style and strived to emulate his comedic self-deprecation (minus the ridiculous birthday dares). So head over to Secondhand Karl and welcome him back. Make sure you guilt him enough so that he never leaves again.
Illin'
While Nathan is getting better, despite still having a cough, Katie is the one who is really sick now and is staying home with Nathan today. So day 2 of the Daycare Project is another bust. Hopefully we will all be back to good health for next Monday when we attempt Nathan's first official day of daycare. Get better, hon!
Mama
I'm a pansy about horror movies. I never used to be this way, I watched all the horror movies I could get my hands on when I was in my early teen years. But I am a wuss now. It's rare that I watch them... ever. But, every once in a while, there comes a horror movie that piques my interest to the point of wanting to see it and... never actually doing it. That movie now is Mama with Jessica Chastain about two little girls found living in the woods who are brought back to live with a family in the "real world." According to the trailers, the girls aren't the only thing that comes to the house. Muahahahahahahaha! Ha. Looks like it might be fun, but we'll see if my scaredy cat self actually watches it.
Formula
Do you have a young baby that is still sipping on formula? Here's a tip for you... ask your pediatrician for coupons or samples. When I took Nathan to the doctor's office on Monday, I asked about coupons. I wound up walking out with close to $50 in samples of formula. And not just random crap, either. We're talking the premium Enfamil stuff. Free. If I didn't ask about it, it would have expired in their storage closet and been thrown out. Free is good, people.
Token
I can't believe this, but Parker Bros. is hosting a vote to retire one of their iconic Monopoly tokens. Now through February 5, visit their Facebook page to vote on which token you want to save from retirement: the Scottie dog, battleship, thimble, race car, top hat, wheelbarrow, shoe, or iron. At the same time, you can vote for the icon you want to see added to the game: toy robot, helicopter, cat, guitar, or diamond ring. I think it borders on blasphemy that they would do this and hate to see any of them go, but I gotta fight to save the top hat. It was always my favorite along with the race car, but I'm pretty sure the race car will be safe. Oh, and I'm totally voting for the addition of the robot. Cool ol' windup tin jobber.
Talk to you all soon!
