I wasn't sure if I'd have the time to get this done or not. Been a really busy day and I don't see that ending anytime soon. But I wasn't going to miss a Snippet Wednesday. I've been really good about these so far this year. Let's hope it keeps up.
Met
I gotta admit that one of the most fun lunch breaks I've had in a long time was yesterday when I was looking for that snippet of video from Robin Williams' Live at the Met stand-up routine in the 80s to accompany my post. I watched through quite a bit of the entire performance and nearly burst a blood vessel laughing at it. I hadn't heard or seen this bit in more than 20 years.
If you're interested in watching it yourself, one YouTube user did a pretty decent job of chopping it into five digestable videos. Check it out...
Chin
It's amazing how much of a sap I've become because of Nathan. The little things just make me all kinds of wibbly-wobbly. For example, the other night, I was rocking Nathan to sleep and he moved his head down a bit further on my chest so his cheek was nestled on my pec and he just looked up at me right in my eyes. I took the side of one of my index fingers and rubbed it lightly on his other cheek and he reached up with a free hand and did almost the same thing to my chin. Holy cow, the waterworks...
Waiting
Can anyone tell me why we still have to wait for two weeks between the NFL Conference Championships and the Super Bowl? Don't say the Pro Bowl because that's a joke. Just cancel the Pro Bowl or move it to after the Super Bowl and reduce the wait time to a week. There's no reason for us to be forced to deal with this media barrage for 14 days.
Growing
Do you remember this picture of Nathan from a few months ago?
Check out how ginormous those overalls are. Guess what. The little guy has outgrown them. In fact, at only four months old, he's already wearing six month clothing. This is really making end-of-season clothes shopping for him very difficult. We'd like to buy stuff that's on the clearance rack for him to wear next year like jackets and whatnot that are very season specific. But we're not sure anymore if he'll be able to wear them as his growth is not following those generic guidelines that clothing companies produce. Can't have him wearing a winter coat in the summer, right? Nate, slow down! Please. This is killing us emotionally.
Decor
My officemate may not be with me much longer. He's being told that he needs to move back down where the rest of his department is located in the basement of our building. So our office will be my office once again and I'm starting to redecorate to mark the change. I am hanging up some old posters that I've had forever and a day rolled up in tubes at home. I started with these three...
That's Scarface on the left, the newer King Kong in the middle (not my favorite movie but I like the poster, and The Crow on the right. I need to dig out some more as I'm going to have a lot of surplus wall space needing some life.
How's your office decorated?
