I will never understand why politicians, both current and ex, are sent by governments to foreign countries as so-called "peace makers" or "goodwill ambassadors" or the like.
Why? There's rarely any sincerity in the act as far as I'm concerned. Our politicos want the other side to bend to our demands... er... yield to a desire for peaceful relations. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Plus, we never send the right people as ambassadors.
If you want enemy combatants and "Axis of Terror" governments to go googly soft and all wibbly-wobbly in the knees and say they are ready to live peacefully, send him...
How can you be mad and want to kill people after spending time around this face?
