A while ago, I posted a series of TBT pics of what I basically dubbed my multiple failed attempts at youth athletics. Just not in so many words.
On the flip side of that coin is one athletic endeavor at which I felt I was fairly decent... Karate. More specifically, Kenpo.
This photo shows me on the right during my green belt conveyance ceremony almost exactly 30 years ago. This was at East-West Karate in Farmington, CT, and the man giving me my fake gut check kick was my lead sensei Greg Silva.
I really liked Karate and felt I was pretty good at it. Within a little more than two years, I was awarded my third-degree brown belt.
I've actually got a little more info about it in a TBT from last August.
