TBT: First Day...

Back in November 2011, I had the honor of meeting Dick Locher, the longtime writer and artist behind Dick Tracy comics.

Earlier this week, Mr. Locher passed away.

He leaves behind an amazing legacy including being a 20-year Air Force veteran with two years as a test pilot. He worked on Dick Tracy for several decades, was a Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist for the Chicago Tribune, worked with local Community Radio Watch and Crime Stoppers, was recognized by the FBI for his contributions to law enforcement, and founded a scholarship fund for Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. Among other things I'm missing in my rush to finish this post before midnight.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Locher.
