I need your help with something. Actually, it may be more that I need your opinion. It’s regarding my understanding of how a geospatial description is used. Here goes...
These are The Beatles. Duh. From left to right we have Ringo, Paul, George, and John. Right? Right.
So if someone were to ask you the name of the second person from the left, would that be Paul or George?
It comes down to what your personal interpretation of “left” is. Would “left” be Ringo or is it some imaginary thing on the far left of the overall image? If the former, the second from left is George (Ringo is left, Paul is first from left, George is second from left); but if the latter, the answer is Paul (imaginary left marker, Ringo first from left, Paul at second from left).
So how do you interpret this?
Stupid question, I know. But this was bugging me the other day and now I hope it’s bugging you too.
While we’re at it, does “bi-annual” mean “twice a year” or “once every two years”?
