...because I GOTTA!
Last night, my buddy Eric and I went to a concert at the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin. Actually, a park right outside the casino proper. Opening was a band known as The Orchestra, comprised of former members of Electric Light Orchestra (a name held legally by former member Jeff Lynne). Headlining was the classic metal band Deep Purple.
The great thing about iPhoneography (iPhone + photography) is that, initially, the amount of gear you carry around on a daily basis becomes much less than if you are a D-SLR fan with all your lenses and memory cards and readers and cleaners and tripods and filters and shades and flashes and god-only-knows what else.
I gotta admit if was surprised how difficult last week's Macro Monday challenge turned out to be. Only my mother-in-law got it. She's very happy about that, too.
Last week's Macro Monday challenge photo turned out to be much easier than I expected. I really was hoping for some missed guesses but all of you got it.
You are the most amazing woman in the world and we cannot imagine our lives without you. Thank you for everything you do for us every day.
We love you so much,
And a very happy Mother's Day to my mom, Katie's mom, and my Nano. We love you all.
Back to Macro Monday on a Monday!!!
Macro Monday on a *gulp* Tuesday????? And last week's was posted three days late???? Make the madness stop!!
While it was pretty obvious that last week's Macro Monday challenge was an R2-D2 figure...
Last week's Macro Monday was clearly tough. No guesses at all.
First off, congrats to the University of Connecticut Huskies on winning the NCAA men's basketball championship. Sure, I would've preferred it be my Kentucky Wildcats but it was not meant to be. I can handle UConn as champs. At least it's not Duke.
Now that we're through that, on to the theme day.
Yeah, so last week's Macro Monday photo was a bit obvious to, well, anyone.
I'm hoping to not be the only nostalgic fool here. Do any of you keep ticket stubs from events you attend? Be they concerts, movies, speeches and presentations, etc.?
I was attempting to keep in theme with the holiday last Monday -- St. Patrick's Day -- with Macro Monday. That's why I was asking you to be so specific.
This was a weekend of food highs and lows.
Admittedly, I was kinda surprised with how readily everyone got last week's Macro Monday challenge. Trying to imagine myself looking at it with no context or insider knowledge, I was actually having a little difficulty with it.
Most everybody got last week's Macro Monday challenge.
Graffiti art has always intrigued me. Sadly there's never much around where I live. It always tends to get painted over. So, when I do see it, I like to take some pictures, no matter how bad it might be.
Not as difficult this past week as evidenced by the many correct guesses.
Another low guess yielding macro photo last week. I really thought it would be easier but at least there was one correct guess and that was from Ren, a man who knows macro photography very well.
I only had one guess in last week's Macro Monday. I'm guessing it was really tough. As I admitted, even I wouldn't have gotten it. I considered leaving it up another week but I don't think anyone would continue guessing so I'm going to give you the answer as per my normal plan.
I had to bid a fond farewell to two good friends this weekend. Both were favorite pairs of jeans. Both developed irreparable holes in areas that they shouldn't have holes. Not even for the sake of style.
Last week's Macro Monday challenge entry didn't garner as many guesses and I suppose that's because it was too easy and everyone saw their guess in the comments.
Nothing like getting up, getting dressed, walking a mile to the course, running an organized 5K, and walking a mile home to not only get the blood flowing but to get you over 12,500 steps before 11:15 a.m.
Welcome to Macro Monday: The Results Show! Tonight, we find out what the answer was to last week's Macro Monday photo challenge as well as pose the challenge for this week. We'll also find out who you, the reader, voted off of this week's competition.
Welcome to my first you-guess-it Macro Monday!
How about a Macro Monday haiku?
Oh was Saturday fun!
Welcome to my first ever Macro Monday!
Because of all my at-work jogging and walking, I've felt a need to find new routes so as not to get bored. I did that again yesterday when I explored a snow-covered bike path extension.
Yesterday, due to the weather, I only went so far before turning around and heading back.
Happy New Year 2014 to you and your family!
