From the three of us to all of you, Merry Christmas!
Vacations & Holidays 2012
I love it.
We just got home from our third family Christmas celebration. Our fourth, and thankfully final, is tomorrow. Katie is reading The Polar Express to Nathan for the 24th time this month. When he's down, we're going to watch what has become our annual Christmas movie, Love Actually.
And then we're going to bed.
Tomorrow we will wake up to spend our first Christmas as parents.
I seriously cannot wait.
And our monster season of family Christmas parties began tonight with the largest of the bunch with Katie's paternal family (I hate saying "Katie's Dad's family"... double possessives suck).
When I was growing up, the big Christmas film to watch was A Christmas Story. This movie came out when I was about six or seven years old and, as I recall, was re-released each holiday season for the next several years and then it was picked up by network and basic cable stations and played to death. Yet we still tuned in annually.
This is not to say that we didn't watch other Christmas movies, but A Christmas Story remained a favorite.
Today was Nathan's first photo with Santa. Or should I say "photos"?
It was an interesting shoot. Thank you, Santa, for your patience.
I just wanted to take a moment to wish a happy 11th anniversary to my fantastic and beautiful and loving wife. We're having quite the beginning to our next decade together. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I love you, baby.!
I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very happy seventh blogiversary.
What is it about day's off not actually being true "day's off"? I remember when I was a kid, having a day off meant that I was running around outside playing all day long with my friends.
Now? I'm doing laundry and flushing a drain in our mudroom and, well, I am watching Doctor Who so I guess that counts as "recreation." Damn, just disproved my own thesis statement. Way to go, Kapgar.
I'm going to shut up now and recap my progress toward my New Year's Resolutions. Sound good?
Just a quick post to wish my lovely wife a happy birthday.
I love you, hon, with all my heart and look forward to the crazy years ahead. Together we can do *anything*. And I sincerely mean that.
Happy birthday, Katie.
For many, it's a chance to reminisce on an eventful year gone by and look forward to another great year.
For others, it's a chance to say "see ya" to a year they might prefer to forget and hope that 2012 will prove better.
Whichever way you choose to look at it, I hope 2012 is a great year for you.
Happy New Year!
