But everybody's watchin' TV...
To fulfill a challenge thrown out there by Ninja Poodles, I present you with the contents of my TiVo Now Playing list as it stands on Thursday, September 21, 2006, at 7:00 a.m. (or thereabouts).
Here is her description (yeah, Wife Swap is her shame, not mine)...
Got TiVo? Or any other DVR? Go, right now, pull up your "Now Playing" screen, and snap a photo of whatever is at the very top. No cheating, just whatever is the top page of your recorded (or currently recording) shows. Come on, show your shame. I did--"WIFE SWAP," people!!
Post the result on your site, and leave a link in the comments here, OR send it to me in an email, at [email protected]. If we get a decent number of responses, I've started a flickr group (where you can either add your dares yourself, or, if you don't have a flickr account, send them to me and I'll add them), and perhaps the "dare" will become a regular feature, and maybe eventually evolve beyond the "show and tell" phase.
Yes, we do have a second TiVo in our bedroom that has some interesting stuff on it. But Katie is asleep and I wasn't going to wake her up for this. Sorry.
Here you go...
So we have last night's Tonight Show because we want to see the interview with The Office's Steve Carell, Kidnapped, Justice (one of our current addictions), Miami Ink (I love this show), Ebert & Roeper (the podcast wasn't doing it for me), three episodes of Psych (one of the best shows on TV right now, IMHO), nine episodes from last season of The Office (even though we now own the season on DVD), and the car dealership/Twix episode of Seinfeld.
What's on your TiVo?
Oh, and don't worry, I have not forgotten... the fourth and final lyrical challenge will go live later today. Promise!
I am cracking up because when I just looked at this on flickr, I thought, "WOW, are our tastes ever compatible with his, except for Leno...but he might have a specific reason for having saved that one. I wonder who was on last night..." HA!
And now it's daytime and you can post the bedroom TV! Yaay! And we LOVED "Psych," and hope there will be another season. We're also kinda digging "Eureka" right now.
And I commented on flickr, I think your TiVo has a cool folder feature that ours does not.
Thanks for playing, Kevin--I knew you would! The lyrical challenge thing is blowing my mind. You are so smart: S-M-R-T!

You have the "High Five" Episode of Seinfeld on your Tivo? Respect for you is coming out of orafices I didn't even know I had. The presence of mind to capture that episode in its entirety is truly amazing. By leaps and bounds that is my favorite episode, I might just have to come over and visit my now favorite brother-in-law. Take that as you may, as you are my one and forever only brother-in-law....but you're still my favorite.

Belinda, the lyrical challenge has worked out better than I thought it would. I was really worried about being able to come up with anything. But it's going rather smoothly.
I actually grew up watching both Carson and Leno. I saw Leno do stand-up live in Aurora many moons ago before he got the FT gig on The Tonight Show. But, we typically do watch Letterman. Katie got me into him. I'd watch more Craig Ferguson if I could stay awake that late. And TiVo'ing late night talkshows never seems to work well for me. Dunno why.
Psych is coming back in either December or January. USAnetwork.com has it posted and I read it the other day.
Scott, yep, the high five episode simply because it is not yet available on DVD, and we love it. We've watched it about a half dozen times so far. Not sure how to take the "favorite" comment. A combo compliment/slap in the face? Oh and you can keep the respect because I'm afraid of the physical condition of said orifices. Blech.

How funny - our TIVO lists look pretty much the same.
That is, except I've got some Battlestar on there, a bunch of Law & Orders and a few Adult Swim picks. And yeah, that E&R podcast just doesn't do the show justice.

Haha, this totally goes with MY post today.....as soon as Shawn wakes up and gets in the shower, ye shall have your pic!

Okay, I am a slave to your grind, Sir Funkalicious....here is my pic!

I bet you didn't want to do your bedroom Tivo because that is were you tape your porn... Oh wait, that is MY bedroom DVR...

Tivo is so pretty! I will do this later - housemate is actually watching TV... you know 'live' at the mo... weird...

Sizzle, consider it motivation. Yeah, that's the ticket. This dare is our sales pitch.
Paul, I really thought the idea of the E&R podcast was great. But it's just the audio from their studio show. Maybe if it was a vodcast instead so we could watch the scenes they refer to. Alas. Besides, Aisha Tyler is cohosting. Why would we just want to listen? I'm really shocked I never got into Battlestar. I should rent the DVDs. I saw the two-part movie when it came out and liked it. Just never looked out for the series.
Hilly, I pray I'm the only Sir Funkalicious in your life. I might be jealous otherwise. You'll have to tell me how Jericho and Standoff are. I forgot to set the TiVo for them both and the online listings for CBS last night were all shades of messed up so I couldn't set my TiVo remotely. Stupid CBS.
Allison, yeah, that's your DVR. Hope the kids haven't figured that one out yet.
Bec, people still watch live TV? The horror! ;-)

My hubs got me watching Psych. I wasn't thrilled about the premise at first but I'm starting to enjoy it.

I don't own a TIVO. But the stock is doing quite nicely of late. Heh.

Carolyn, it is a slightly strange premise, but the two of them together (James Roday and Dule Hill) are just hilarious. Welcome aboard, by the way.
RW, but wouldn't it behoove you to truly buy into what you invest in. Might even help your stock shares. Your purchase could be all the difference. ;-)

We're pretty compatible Tivo-wise as well. No surprise there, I guess. This was a fun little dare.

I really enjoyed it, too. I only wish I got our second TiVo on there. A little late to do it now, though.

Psych is excellent!
I really like Justice too! I'm not normally a law show watcher...

I can't wait for Psych to return in December/January. I got burned out on legal shows, too. But Justice is fun and I just started watching Heroes last night which, so far, seems decent. Curious where they will take it, but we'll see.
