'Cause it's a rumble in the jungle...
There is all kinds of work going on out in our neighborhood this morning (I took the day off, in case you're wondering).
There are also a handful of utility trucks out there. I see one Comcast, one Xfinity (even though this is the same as Comcast), and one AT&T.
In my head, I conceived a scenario where a Comcast technician was helping a customer jump ship from AT&T. All of a sudden, an AT&T technician, armed with cable strippers and pliers, busts in on the secretive switchover affair yelling, "GET AWAY FROM MY CUSTOMER!!!!" Then both he and the Comcast technician start a big ol' rumble for customer utility rights.
Can you tell I played too much Mortal Kombat as a kid?

FINISH HIM!!!!
In addition to not being hip, I'm very much a klutz.
I drop stuff, I spill stuff, I break stuff, I stain stuff, I shrink stuff, I wreck stuff.
You name it, I've likely done it.
Just in the last 24 hours, I broke both my camera lens cap and my iPhone case. But not in the way you might imagine.
I managed to break the plastic spring system that makes the lens cap stay attached to my camera lens. This "spring" is tucked away neatly inside the lens cap seemingly protected from potential damage. And, in fact, the lens cap itself was otherwise unmarred. No scratches or cracks. But the spring just went kablooiee!
My iPhone case is all kinds of scratched up from the occasional short-height fall or being dinged up in my pocket by keys or a wallet or change or whatever. I really would've expected an overall crack right down the middle. Instead, though, I have the two strips of plastic that wrap down over the bottom to the sides of the dock connection starting to crack and peel away. I don't even know what caused it. Haven't dropped it in a while.
Replacements are coming in from various parts of the globe thanks to eBay (Hong Kong and Toronto... yeah, I outsourced), and at a much lower cost than buying them from the store.
Hell, considering all the stores that have gone under in recent years, I'm not even sure how many places still stock the stuff I need (want... prefer...), if any.
I'm looking forward to the opening of the new hhgregg stores around here. Best Buy needs some competition.

Yes, they do! I just don't know how much of the smaller ticket items they're going to have. I was under the impression they were only an appliance store instead of a full-fledged electronics store.

Man, I hope you actually get your stuff from Hong Kong. Mr. Law ordered something from there once- then complained and they said they sent another, so twice - and - nothing.
Mortal Kombat was awesome. I still miss Tekken, though.

The Hong Kong thing worried me as well. But at the cost they were giving me on a lens cap, I couldn't afford to not risk it. More than 85% off what the local camera store would charge if they actually stocked 49mm caps anymore. Rare size.

The ability to find parts worldwide without making a single phone call or leaving your house is pretty awesome.
It's been years since I've played Mortal Kombat. The last version I played is one for my Sony PSP. It's a nice rendition and the play value is good, but I may have to seek out a PS3 version of the game if I plan to play longer in the future.

I think the last version I played was Mortal Kombat II in arcades. Yikes.
