The boys are back...

It's been 2+ years of poop-and germ-free peace and quiet. But he's back.

The gray-furred, squeaky-voiced, long-tailed vermin known as a field mouse has made an encore appearance in our kitchen.

Even though we've had audio deterrents in place, he still came back. Could be because the audio devices need to be plugged in and we cannot get one in under the sink where he was. But he wasn't on the countertop where we did have one plugged in. And, after plugging another in on the other side, he didn't go back there either.

But it's still under the counter. Pooping everywhere. And he tripped two traps without getting caught. We've got three set now complete with peanut buttery goodness.

This better work as Lilly is no help in this matter. Why couldn't Lilly be a cat?

I am intent on prevailing.

Damn mouse.

I think the Metro in Chicago is trying to kill me. No, for those outside Chicago, the Metro is not our commuter rail system. That's Metra and they've done enough damage to the populace of Chicagoland in the last year....

You can borrow Peanut. She's a great mouser. Try putting a nut in the peanut butter.

I may take you up on Peanut. Lock them under the sink in a steel cage match to the death.

We used to have a terrible field mouse problem at my last house. I find the covered mouse traps work best. Good luck getting rid of it!

kapgar

Covered traps? You mean the boxes they enter and can't get out of?

Sybil Law

You need a cat!

kapgar

Damn allergies.

Marty Mankins

As cute as mice can be, they are a menace to a household.

kapgar

I used to think they were cute... until forced to hunt them.

Kevin Spencer

Yeah I was going to say "get a cat immediately" until I saw your "damn allergies" comment. That sucks mate. You thought about having a professional pest catcher come out and take a look?

kapgar

We fear it would do nothing more than provide temporary relief. We have a large field behind our house. Where there's a field, there's plenty of field mice.

sizzle

Oh no! I remember this issue from before. ICK.

Lemme tell ya how much fun it's been.
