It's not your fault...
I got so caught up in all the follow-up from our announcement on Tuesday night and the fact that I was off from work both Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday, that I completely mixed up my days yesterday.
I, gulp, forgot Snippet Wednesday!!!
Please forgive me, oh great Snippet! I didn't mean to. It was merely an oversight, honestly!
To honor the great Snippet, I present you with Snippet Thursday: The Reckoning!
Back
Usually when someone "talks behind your back," it's bad. Something they're afraid to say directly to your face. But, man, if talking behind my back was always like what Neilochka and sizzlesays were saying on Twitter about me last night, I could handle that.
Thanks, you two!
Obama
I know I'm not the biggest fan of President Obama. Not that I dislike the guy, I just haven't been wholly impressed. But when he does stuff like this, I gotta say I respect him. Way to go, Prez-man!
On the reverse side of the coin, I really wish North Carolina and the 30 states that preceded them would reconsider their ignorant stance.
Goldbergian
I figured out my issue yesterday with my camera and the iPad Camera Connection Kit. It's not the most elegant, but it works. I found a three-in-one USB cable at Wal-Mart that actually fits in the mini-B flat USB out port on my camera. It seems to be working nicely as I was able to import the photos off my Sony A-350 last night. Yay me!
Although I will admit that the Connector Kit that Marty found on Amazon looks pretty nice as does the promise of the money-saving solutions offered up by Gary. Not that I spent much on this solution. When all is said and done, I will have spent $5 thanks to the giftcard and the fact that I'm selling off the SD card dongle for half the cost of the overall kit thus offsetting the cost of the cable.
Fifth
I was driving behind a Jeep this morning festooned with various stickers and logos and whatnot. One of the things he had was a license plate rim that read "I'd Rather Be Watching The Fifth Element." I just don't get that movie. I never did. I watched it once back in college and it kinda bored me. Am I missing something? Do I need to approach this movie from a certain perspective to enjoy it? Do I need to be high? Help. I want to understand why so many people love this film.
I'm outta here for now. Talk to you all soon.
Okay, so when you get a new camera (some day) that uses SD, get a generic one from eBay or even Amazon for < $5. Don't spend $30 for another Apple Connection Kit :)
I never "got" The Fifth Element. I watched it once (it was my first movie I watched on my new home theatre with DVD and 5.1 sound!) and it just didn't do it for me (and it was people I liked)....

The thing is, will I need to buy the new adapter? This USB dongle will work with SD, too.

I am so baffled by the 31 states that feel an amendment is necessary. So much so, that I don't have words to argue with them. So, anytime someone tries to defend their position on supporting marriage amendments and the like, I'm just going to cut them off with COWARD. It might not change their mind, but it will certainly make me feel better.

I'm at a loss too. It amazes me that the US is supposed to be so progressive technologically and yet we're so backwards in this regard and others regarding basic human rights and courtesies and considerations. I'm just thankful I haven't gotten into that debate with anyone yet.

The first time I saw The Fifth Element, I thought it was stupid, and I WAS high. The second time I watched it, I thought it was kind of funny. I think it depends on who you're around, maybe. Or your own attitude/ state of mind. Once I learned not to take it so seriously, I kind of enjoyed it. Otherwise, it isn't the best movie ever. Period.

I'm not sure what I need to do to enjoy it. I feel I may be too prejudiced against it to ever enjoy it now. Yanno?

When I saw that CF card adapter for the iPad, I thought it was pretty cool that one existed (and odd, as you said, that it wasn't made by Apple)
Obama's statement was great and carried a lot of promise for the rights of this country for our gay brothers and sisters and their civil liberties being extended to them. Just wish the wait didn't have to travel through the bigot crowd.

Sadly, there will always be bigots.

I only say good things about you, brother!

Not sure I should believe that one... ;-)
