2013 Goals: February Recap...

We're really about to start the third month of this year??? SLOW DOWN ALREADY!

While I wait for that to never happen, shall we recap how I did with my 2013 Goals this month?

1. Convert old site to Typepad
I actually did post everything from March 1998 (a whopping four dinky little posts) just to see how I would make this work. I know, I know... I really need to step up my game on this goal.

2. Read the entire run of Kirkman's Invincible
I am through volume 3, which, if my math hasn't failed me, means I'm through issue 13 of 100 or 101, whatever the series is now up to. This comic took a mighty dark turn during this volume. VERY cool.

3. Listen to one new band per month
The latest albums from Tegan & Sara and Wild Nothings, both of which I really like but neither of which I've reviewed.

4. Watch through season 4 of Sons of Anarchy and season 2 of Game of Thrones
I have finished season 1 of both series and am focusing myself of season 2 of GoT so I can be ready for when season 3 starts at the end of March. Still not sure how I plan to watch season 3 since I don't currently have HBO. But I hope to find a way.

5. Try three new recipes per month
I made Belgian waffles and taco fixings (not for the same meal). Both are recipes that Katie has done plenty of times in the past, but they were first for me. She also made peanut butter banana muffins and found a new recipe for egg salad that involved a new egg boiling technique that was fantastic.

6. Post at least 50% of the year
36/58, including this post.

7. Run three 5Ks
While I haven't run any 5Ks just yet, Katie and I have started a Couch-to-10K training regimen to ensure that we can both run them soon. She's more than halfway through week three and I'm just about to start week three.

8. Post monthly updates on my progress
Here you go.

Not bad, right?

What was the egg boiling technique?

Recipes! I want recipes!

Gotcha covered.

I can probably get you the muffin one. The two I made weren't anything special.

Wild Nothings is really good.

Now I'm curious what a Belgian Taco tastes like. LOL

I'll let you try that one.

I've read all five books in the Song Of Ice And Fire series so while I anxiously wait for George RR Martin to finish book 6, I suppose it's time to settle down with the TV version. I've only watched the first 3 or 4 episodes of season 1 but liked it. After being so immersed in the books I can tell you they got the casting spot on. SPOT ON.

Whole I still haven't finished book one, from what I've read, the show is a direct translation of the book. You gotta watch it.
