2013 Goals: December Recap...

Here she be... my final Goal Post Recap for 2013!

1. Convert old site to Typepad
Done.

2. Read the entire run of Kirkman's Invincible
Done.

3. Listen to one new band per month
I picked up Jake Bugg's debut album and gave it a shot. You might know the song "Lightning Bolt" from a Gatorade commercial earlier in the year. Strong rockabilly vibe with some early Dylan thrown in for good measure. The tinny resonance gives it a late 50s feel. Almost like this 19-year-old Brit could've easily been playing in the million dollar quartet with Elvis, Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Sam Perkins. Give it a go. Done.

4. Watch through season 4 of Sons of Anarchy (SoA) and season 2 of Game of Thrones (GoT)
Done.

5. Try three new recipes per month
Two this month. Macaroons, an old recipe for Katie but new for me and I made them myself for my office cookie exchange. Nathan's sauces including an apple-pear sauce and a sweet potato purée. They're pretty good. And I made them pretty much all myself. Mostly done.

6. Post at least 50% of the year
28 posts in December bringing my total to 226 of 365 for 61.9%. Done.

7. Run three 5Ks
Nixed.

8. Post monthly updates on my progress
Done.

Okay, despite not having three recipes every month and having to nix the 5K goal, I'm happy with how my goals turned out this year. Really happy, indeed.

Celebrate safely tonight, okay? I want you back in 2014!

Update: we made chocolate chip cheesecake when we got home to celebrate New Year's Eve. Three recipes for no. 5!!

I do believe this is it for my Year-End Best-Of (YEBO) lists. And this one is TV! What always makes this one special is that Katie and I work on it together. Maybe down the line when he's old enough,...
