2014 Goals...

Here it is, my official Goals Post list for 2014.

A few quick notes: I'm done with TV watching goals. I'm always so burned out by the show by the end that I never want to watch it again. I'm also reinstituting a photography goal. I got really lazy with photography this past year and I need to pick it back up.

Remember that you will be able to find a link to this post in the top menu bar of my blog and below you will find links to monthly recaps detailing my progress. Feel free to use this to shame me.

Let's get on with it, shall we?

2014 Goal Post Status Checks:
January | February | March | April | May | June | July
August | September | October | November | December

1. The Reading Goal:
Read George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire novels 2, 3, and 4
Nope, not going so far as to add book five to this goal. I think three of them is enough considering the sad state of my reading.

2. The Photography Goal:
Shoot and blog about one macro photo per week ("Macro Monday")
I've got a macro lens and a will to use it. Who knows what the subject will be or how I'll convert it into a blog post, but I'm going to make it a point to do it.

3. The Music Goal:
Listen to one new band per month
I still love this goal. No reviews promised. Just a short recap in the monthly update posts.

4. The Food Goal:
Try three new recipes per month
Just like last year except that I'm including new recipes I try even if they're ones that Katie has done in the past. I need to get better about cooking.

5. The Fitbit Goal:
Take an average of 10,000 steps per day
I think this is pretty straightforward... ensure I take 10,000 steps per day on average based on total weekly steps. It hasn't been easy, but I've done it twice this week alone and think I know what it will take to maintain an average of that count.

6. The Blog Goal I:
Convert to new blogware
I think it's time to experiment a bit with this blog and move it elsewhere. I'm going to spend the next year researching my options, setting up a blog and theme, tweaking it, and importing my existing blog. Wish me luck.

7. The Blog Goal II:
Post 50% of Year
Same as last year. Very doable.

8. The Blog Goal III:
Post monthly updates on my progress
As stated above, you can find links to each monthly update right here!

9. The Katie Goal:
Read Sue Grafton's alphabet novels, A through L
Katie's adding a goal to my list this year (aside from the cooking goal that was always joint). And she feels like reading is something she needs to start doing more regularly again. While Grafton has published through letter W, we already own copies of A through L. Should this prove easier than she's expecting, she may expand the goal to W and get them from the library.

What are your goals this coming year?

Katie, Nathan, and I are at home right now. I took the day off work to allow Katie to recover from yesterday's oral surgery. And it turned out to be doubly good because AT&T is supposed to install Uverse today....

YEBO: Movies...

You all may be a little disappointed by what you're about to read. Today was going to be my Year-End Best-Of (YEBO) Movies list. I went through the list of 2013 movie releases on Wikipedia and discovered something rather disconcerting......
