With Apple celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of the first Macintosh computer earlier this week, it got me thinking about "firsts" in terms of technology. More specifically, when did you use or own your first of something?

Welcome to a Snippet Wednesday with a somewhat better than last Snippet Wednesday forecast... the Polar Vortex may finally be leaving us... for a second time! Temperatures are in the positive range with the promise of 30 degrees this Friday. Accompanied with snow, sure, but it can't always be perfect, right?

My plan this morning was to leave early (which I did), jump on the tollway (which I also did), and make it to work early so I could leave early (which did not happen).

Nathan fell asleep shortly before 8 p.m. tonight. This is really early for him. Katie and I are sooooo not used to this.
I've got a project that I've been helping a friend work on for some years now. I'm not the first person to help him with this project. The first person had to quit the project and that's when I agreed to help out. I really don't do too much work on it anymore so I don't think about it. Until today.

First off, I must offer up my sincerest apologies to the musician known as Lorde.
In 2013, her debut album, Pure Heroine, was released and I immediately dismissed it. Without even listening to it. Why? I was so ridiculously burned out on and had truly come to hate the leadoff single "Royals" that I assumed, this being the first single, the rest of the album must be worse.

Now that the cast of characters has been set for the next Super Bowl, Katie is planning her menu for that evening.
I got a cute little email from Fitbit this morning recapping my "year in fitness" with mostly true animal facts. I think probably no true, but still funny.

A while back, I extolled the virtues of being able to read books on my iPad. Katie and I loved having access to any number of books electronically and just calling them up at a moment's notice. Remember that?
Well, a funny thing happened on the way to the forum.
How about a Macro Monday haiku?

I'm realizing something very quickly, this Fitbit 10,000 average daily steps is not going to be an easy goal to keep this year.
...or not to play. That is the question.

I always find it fun to look ahead into the coming year to see what new albums will be released. I love music and lawdy knows it's cool to see what may or may not be coming down the road.

I saw this from my friend Lynne on Facebook (no, the *other* Lynne. Yes, there's another one.)
Considering the terrible weather we're currently experiencing and worse to come, it's appropriate.

Because of all my at-work jogging and walking, I've felt a need to find new routes so as not to get bored. I did that again yesterday when I explored a snow-covered bike path extension.
Yesterday, due to the weather, I only went so far before turning around and heading back.
