For the last week, Katie, Nathan, and I have been on vacation. A few days in Indiana for a family wedding and then a handful of days in Florida so Nathan and his only living great grandmother could finally meet.

The great thing about iPhoneography (iPhone + photography) is that, initially, the amount of gear you carry around on a daily basis becomes much less than if you are a D-SLR fan with all your lenses and memory cards and readers and cleaners and tripods and filters and shades and flashes and god-only-knows what else.

Sure, last week's Macro Monday may have seemed like a gimme but I really wanted specifics for it.

Me thinks the only things missing from this hallway of the hotel we're staying at in North Macon, GA, tonight are a little boy on a Big Wheel and twin girls at the other end.

How about a few quick Snippets this fine Wednesday?

A couple weeks ago, I read an article in the print version of the Chicago Tribune (I know, I know... so retro) about a band from Elmhurst, a couple cities east of here, called The Orwells and how they may be the next big thing in music.

I gotta admit if was surprised how difficult last week's Macro Monday challenge turned out to be. Only my mother-in-law got it. She's very happy about that, too.

I did it! I did it!

I finished A Storm of Swords, book three in George R.R. Martin's series A Song of Ice and Fire (AKA A Game of Thrones).

People like to say that if they were present during memorable moments in history that they would've gotten involved.

I don't usually like to talk about work here on my blog. I don't want to get Dooce'd, after all. But, I am going to blog a little about it today. In very general terms. Oh, and positive ones, too!

What a dreary day today. I thought it was supposed to be "April showers bring May flowers" not "May showers bring summer flooding conditions." What the deuce?

Hopefully my progress on 2014 Goals won't be quite so dismal.
