2014 Goals: June Recap...

And the 2014 Goals continue! Here is my June recap and the final month of the first half of the year. Woah. Where did the time go?

1. The Reading Goal:
Read George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels 2, 3, and 4

Even though I said I wasn't going to start A Feast For Crows (book 4) until this month, I started early because of a free audiobook offer from Audible. I'm currently a little more than a quarter of the way through it. Not bad. I may continue on the audiobook route with the final book in the series.

2. The Photography Goal:
Shoot and blog about one macro photo per week ("Macro Monday")

I had a bit of theme this month starting with week two. Characters, identify who they are. I think it's almost too easy. Time to try something new.

3. The Music Goal:
Listen to one new band per month

It was only going to be one new album this month, but I wound up adding a few more. Here they are with grade in parenthesis. The Orwells - Disgraceland (B+), Manic Street Preachers - Generation Terrorists (B+), Project Pitchfork - Black (A), Project Pitchfork - Quantum Mechanics (A-).

4. The Food Goal:
Try three new recipes per month

Two recipes in June: Crockpot Spaghetti and Crockpot Ribs. Katie wasn't happy with how the first turned out (it should have been monitored throughout the day instead of being left to cook), it has a lot of promise. The ribs were really good.

5. The Fitbit Goal:
Take an average of 10,000 steps per day

11,912. I'm getting back on track, baby!

6. The Blog Goal I:
Convert to new blogware

Nada.

7. The Blog Goal II:
Post 50% of the year

17 of 30 days bringing my total to 126 of 181 or 69.6%.

8. The Blog Goal III:
Post monthly updates on my progress

Here you go.

9. The Katie Goal:
Read Sue Grafton's alphabet novels, A through L

Katie has now started L is for Lawless and is very much on track to finish.

Hello, July, and the second half of 2014!

It would seem my character macros are way too easy. But they're also way too fun. Maybe that's why I'm still doing them. Hey, it is my Macro Monday! So, this... Is Mr. Montgomery Burns from The Simpsons... Now who...

Welcome to Late Night with Snippet Wednesday! I am your host, Jimmy Apgar (it seems like all night-time talk show hosts are named Jimmy these days, so why not), and let's get right to it, shall we? Ultraviolencing I can't...

I, for one, couldn't be happier that you liked those two Project Pitchfork albums. And the fact that you didn't hate that Manics album is the icing on the cake!

Were you expecting me to hate it?
