Apple...
Oh my lord, it's another Oreo cookie review! This time around, I found the new autumn seasonal Caramel Apple Oreos at a local Target.
In the spirit of full disclosure, Target also had the Pumpkin Spice Oreos in stock. But you have to understand, I'm really pumpkin spice'd out this year. Everything is pumpkin spice this and that, have you noticed? I've had enough. I haven't even had a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, that's how burned out I am.
Plus, if there is one thing Katie loves about fall, it's the ability to enjoy caramel apples. She loves them. But she only gets them in the fall. Based on this love and my P.S. burnout, I opted for the Caramel Apple variety.
Katie tried one and was immediately done. She didn't like them at all. And, while I didn't dislike them so vehemently, I can't say they're a favorite.
It's another split cream like the Root Beer Float ones I reviewed last month, but with a much better apple to caramel ratio. The cream is okay, I suppose. Almost a little too sugary, but not excessively sweet. Does that make sense? I can't quite figure out how to explain it otherwise.
But if there is one great thing about these limited edition seasonals, the cookies are FRESH! Well, as fresh as packaged and shippped mass-produced cookies get. No staleness to them whatsoever. I could easily sit there all day just munching on the golden cookies.
Speaking of golden cookies, you notice how many of these limited edition varieties rely on the golden cookies as opposed to the chocolate ones? We need more chocolate cookie varieties!
I had a hotel waffle this morning. The flavor? You guessed it, Pumpkin Spice!!

Seriously?!?!

I think they need more apple flavor. They are OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way for them. You are absolutely right about the pumpkin thing. It's everywhere!

I wish the special edition Oreos around here were more golden cookie focused; all of the ones I find are with the chocolate cookies. I'd like to try these caramel apple ones.

You don't have them? Both the caramel apple and pumpkin spice are golden cookie specials. So were the root beer float ones I reviewed last month. Give your Target a shot and then let me know.

I haven't seen any of those yet, but I haven't checked Target in a while. I did pick up the surprisingly early candy cane Oreos yesterday. The peanut butter were also there. Both chocolate cookies.

Yes. I posted pictures of it on Instagram.

I saw that picture of the Texas waffle but you never said it was pumpkin spice in the caption.

Candy Cane?? Seriously? Did Austin miss a holiday or three?

They even have pumpkin spice M&Ms!! And none of these, per a web report, have actual pumpkin in it.

I've seen more chocolate special edition Oreos than golden ones. I really wanted to try the Root Beer Float ones, but couldn't find them here in Salt Lake. I'm still finding the Cookie Dough Oreos (not stale either.. expiration dates into 2015).
I have a package of these Caramel Apple Oreos sitting in my cupboard (had to finish my Banana Twinkies review). Review to come closer to Halloween.

All those ones you listed are golden cookies.

I didn't really care for these either. In fact, I threw out half the package. But I liked the pumpkin spice ones - those are the only pumpkin spice thing I've had this year :)
It seems some of the flavors they come up with don't work so well with the chocolate cookie. But the Reese one worked SUPER well!

I still haven't tried the Reese's. Must find.
