Terrorist...

The other day, a Germanwings flight full of 144 passengers and six crewmembers crashed in the Alps on the way from France to Germany.

Upon recovery of the black box cockpit recorder, French authorities determined that the pilot, after leaving the cockpit to go to the bathroom, was locked out by his co-pilot who then disabled the auto-pilot settings and rammed the jet into the mountain of his own volition.

Disgusting. Simply disgusting.

Yesterday, I read a Tweet from someone who alluded to a news report that was afraid to call this an act of terrorism. The Tweeter (whose name I don't know and whose Tweet I cannot find as a result) said the news outlet was hesitant to label it as terrorism because the perpetrator was not Muslim.

Guess what? I'm not hesitant. The crashing of Germanwings flight 9525 into a mountainside killing all aboard is nothing short of TERRORISM. What else do you call it?

I don't care that Andreas Lubitz suffered from depression. I know plenty of depressed people. People who regularly take medication for their pain. Extremely depressed. They've never physically hurt themselves, let alone a plane or bus or even a car full of people.

Do not blame the depression.

Do not make him a sympathy case.

Make no bones about it, folks, he is a terrorist!

He did exactly what ten members of Al Q'aida executed on 9/11/01. It was pre-meditated and carried out calmly and smoothly. According to the black box, his breathing remained the same the whole time.

Anyone can be a terrorist. It doesn't matter your religion, culture, gender, sexual preference, whatever. Anyone can be a terrorist, not just Muslims.

Yes, Lubitz intended to kill all of them. Whether he was part of a terror cell like ISIS or just homegrown and disgruntled like Timothy McVeigh, he is a terrorist and a coward.

And there is a special place in hell reserved for him for what he did.

I stole this one from Kazza. Basically, you take the IMDb Top 250 movie list and mark the ones you've seen. I'm going to add a layer and mark the ones I've never even heard of. Why not, right? Here's...

Ghostbusting...

Growing up, there were two movies that terrified the ever-loving bejeezus out of me. They were The Exorcist and Poltergeist. I don't watch them regularly, so I don't ever really think about them at all. And, until recently, I had...

What's the common saying these days? If an Arab commits a crime, they're a terrorist. If a black person commits a crime, they're a murder. If a white person commits a crime, well then they are just mentally ill.

Something along those lines.

That's sadly accurate of society, isn't it?

"And there is a special place in hell reserved for him for what he did." <== true that. When I heard what he'd done I actually had no words. No words at all. Just disgusted.

Absolutely blew my mind.

Marty Mankins

"Anyone can be a terrorist" Such a very correct and true statement. This guy, whatever was wrong with him, committed an act of terrorism. A very sad act that took innocent lives with him.

Sick and sad.
