Hippie...

To cop (ha-ha, see what I did there?) a line from Sergeant Roger Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon, "I'm getting too old for this s&!t." Or, more appropriately, I'm just getting old.

The other night, I started feeling a little tightness in my left upper thigh. I did a little stretching, hammered down some Advil, and slept hoping it would go away.

It. Did. Not.

The next day, my hip hurt like the dickens. Just really tight. I was limping everywhere. In fact, I didn't go for a walk at all at lunch and my Fitbit goal is going to hurt just as bad with a mere 3,373 steps all day long. Ouch is right.

It's starting to wane a bit. I did go for a walk today but I'm still hammering down the maximum dosage of Advil as prescribed. I hate taking painkillers. I try not to use them as much as possible. But I also really don't like being in this kind of pain. It sucks. So Advil and stretching it is for the forseeable future.

Yay.

I need that mug... filled with gin and Ibuprofen.

A couple weeks ago, Marty blogged about live performance recordings. I couldn't participate much in the comments because I'd never been much for recordings of live concerts. The other day, I finally remembered something I could have added. One of...

Have you tried doing yoga? You don't necessarily have to take a class, but about 20-30 minutes of yoga a day or about three times a week? I only ask because it helps keep our muscles somewhat flexible since the older we get, the tighter they get and the more we are prone to injury (even very small ones). Matt actually does it now multiple times a week at home (found instructions on YouTube and I helped him adjust his positions so he was doing it correctly). It's helped with his knee a lot and he neeeeeeever liked yoga or ever thought he'd do it. It has also helped my brother in law with the pain he has in his back. Just a thought.

Oh and I really hope the pain goes away soon!

I used to do yoga years ago but stopped. Much of my pain went away using stretches that are a combination of yoga and old football stretching. I need to do more. Thanks for re-affirming that.
