Today, a woman named Leslie Geissler Munger became one of my favorite people in the entirety of the State of Illinois.

Why? Because as State Comptroller, she made the move to delay the paychecks of all Illinois lawmakers and state officials until our now 10-month-long budget impasse is finally resolved. She believes that if all these companies that do business with the State and organizations that rely on the State for funding, including health organizations and public school districts, have to wait for their money, why should the State officials, who are responsible for this impasse anyway, be able to "jump the line," as it were, and be paid?

I love this quote, "Many of our leaders are true public servants who care about their constituents and their communities, and they are earning their pay. But so are the many organizations and businesses all throughout Illinois who have, in good faith, provided services to the state but still wait months for payment."

Just beautiful.

So how about it, Illinois? Can we get off our collective asses and work this thing out?
