40 years ago today, life began for geeks the world over... Star Wars came out in theaters. It was the first of five theatrical releases of the original movie (not including the revised versions Lucas dropped on us in the 90s).

And life was great.

And continues to be to this day with the sequel trilogy and standalone movies coming out every year and making us all drool to the point where mudslides result that can change the California coastline.
