Tu(n)esday: Dream Team...
While I love music, I'm not one to go to too many concerts. Generally, I just go to my one-day stint at the Pitchfork Music Festival. I think I've only deviated from this once or twice since 2009.
Part of me wants to make 2017 another deviation. Why? Because two of my favorite bands of recent years both in terms of studio recordings and live performances, are playing together!
Japandroids and Cloud Nothings!!!
I saw Japandroids perform at the 2009 Pitchfork Fest and loved them. I had never really heard of them before but their raw power sold me. Their second studio album, Celebration Rock, was my top album of 2012.
Cloud Nothings have graced my ear holes live at two different Pitchfork fests including their 2012 we're-not-stopping-even-with-a-thunderstorm-looming performance. Their album, Attack on Memory, was my number five album of 2012. The second time was 2014, and it was singularly awesome.
And now now they're performing together???
Can I say "Hell Yes" loud enough?
Thanks to Marty for bringing this to my attention.
You are most welcome. When I saw that lineup, I figured you would be excited to know. I look forward to the review of the show.
I finally got a CD from the library of Japandroids "Near To The Wild Heart of Life" and will put it into rotation.

I'm not sure I'll even be going. I'd love to but not sure about the money.
