Can you believe that 2017 is practically over? By the time you read this, it may already be 2018. Who can say for sure? The madness!!

Yeah, I get it. The domestic box office slumped a bit this year. But guess what? I saw a lot of movies that I really enjoyed. So many, in fact, that I can’t just do a list o’ seven. I’m gonna do TWO lists o’ seven. 

I wasn’t sure if I’d actually get this 12th and final video done before the New Year but here it is!

Howsabout a throwback to something I’ve done very little with in the last, well, long freakin’ time. Reading. 

I can’t believe it’s been a year since Carrie Fisher passed away. So unexpected and, in a year full of shocking celebrity deaths, still so brutal.

Isn’t it funny how the more things change/improve, the more we seem to want them to stay the same? I was thinking about this as pictures started showing up on Instagram and Facebook featuring the Christmas gifts that were received by friends of mine. 

Here it is, the final Macro Monday for 2017. And, fear not, Macro Monday will return in 2018. 

Yeah, we’re ready. I cannot guarantee we’ll survive, but we’re ready. I think. [Pictures below]

I would like to say that having a new job where we all like to listen to music has made tackling this list a lot easier. I have listened to so much more music in the last four months than I did the entire previous year and a half. So this list is fun again!

Something tells me this holiday season is gonna be just wonderful. Ho... ho... HO!

How’s this for a throwback? It’s an original head from a really old LEGO figure before they had minifigures. For the sake of scale, Yondu, at right, is about an inch and a half tall. 

After more than 16 years together sleeping on a queen-size bed, Katie and I took the plunge a few weeks ago and bought a king. We were overdue.

I was surprised a couple people actually got last week’s challenge photo. I’m pretty positive I would not have. 

I saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi earlier this evening. And, well, um, yeah. Maybe this tweet sums it up best...

You know how you build yourself up for something that you think is going to be really cool? You get this mental idea that it is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread? Then you take part in that activity only to have it let you down on every possible level.

You like that alphabet soup title? It’s Throwback Thursday: XRT (radio station) Big Holiday Concert. In this case, 93.1 FM’s holiday concert from December 11, 2009, featuring opening acts Pete Yorn and Phoenix and headliner The Flaming Lips. 

First it was bourbon barrel beer. And I was good with it.

Then it was bourbon barrel coffee. Still good by me.

I do know for sure that a Facebook friend got last week’s challenge photo correct. There may have been one more correct guess on top of that but the FB friend was definitely first.

Nathan leveled up in his swim class yesterday! He is now in level 5 after only about 15 months of organized swim lessons and loves it insanely.

I have to admit that a lot has happened with regard to my podcast listening habits this year.

At some point, I will have to do homework or the like with Nathan in the morning before school. 

My longtime pal, Karl, posted a request on his Facebook page asking people to type a single word describing how you met him. Another friend, Lynne, posted “LostBlog,” which, despite being two words, brought back memories of one of the coolest things I’ve ever done in my near two decades of blogging...
