TBT: Mixes...

Remember the good old days of making mix tapes for friends or someone special? Then it was mix CDs, maybe mix minidiscs (if you were Katie and I) and, to a lesser degree, mix MP3 playlists.

Yeah you can still don’t now on streaming services but it just ain’t the same.

Anyway, I found this Throwback Thursday image on Flickr of a couple mix discs Katie and I made for her cousins for a Christmas music swap back in 2009.

I see some recognizable album art: Phoenix, She & Him, I Fight Dragons, Scissor Sisters, Katy Perry, Pearl Jam, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Weezer, The Smiths, The Flaming Lips, Pomplamoose, The Republic Tigers, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Razorlight, Matt & Kim, Damone, Foo Fighters, Modest Mouse, and a ton more.

I only wish we still had a copy of these to know what was on them. I remember really enjoying making them and the covers. Photoshopping those covers was a blast.

Awesome MIX CD covers.

Thanks! I was pretty proud of how they turned out.
