I just discovered that Katie’s and my trip through southern Florida — where we drove down to Sanibel Island, across through the Everglades, down to Key West, up to Miami, and then up to my grandmother’s home north of Orlando — was 10 years ago this month. 

One of the worst things about all the issues I was having with my car last month is that Nathan has a memory like a steel trap (when he wants to, that is).

This past weekend saw the launch of the latest Star Wars film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. This is the one that fans thought was completely unnecessary and were hoping would never actually happen. Admittedly, I was partially in that camp. While I wanted to know for certain which tales were "real" and which were not, I didn't think I really needed to know to the point of dedicating a full 2+ hours to it.

I did get a few correct guesses on last week’s challenge photo. I thought it was tougher than it turned out to be. 

Sometimes our HO association surprises us with the things they do. Sure, these are things that should be done but, when they’re not done regularly, you become pleasantly surprised when they are. 

In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.

I don't know if you all read the same way I do, but sometimes it takes me a while to hit that proverbial stride when I crack open a new book.

I think I finally figured out some comic books to read in light of the fact that all my current monthly reads will be dead by August. Mostly, like I've said, I'm going to dig back a little bit and read a few dead titles that are still recent, but don't require a month-to-month committment. Maybe I can even find them in the library. That would be nifty!

I know this is a bit late because I think this hit its peak early last week, but what is your take on the Laurel vs. Yanny debate?

The other day, we all went to the library and picked up the largest and most varied stack of items I have ever seen leave a library. 

I just finished some extra work-from-home time and now I’m tired so I’m going to bed. 

Oh, curse you, genetics! First, just because Katie and I both have huge hay fever issues, you force the same on Nathan. Why?!?!

There is a local dairy named Oberweis that Katie, Nathan, and I know well. It’s because they have the best ice cream around. Best! I dare you to find better. 

And, just like that, I’m caught back up on my monthly videos!

Several people guessed that last week’s challenge photo is a Mason jar. Those several people would be spot-on.

With Descender ending in a few months, I’ve been scrambling to find new comics to read. This desire for “new” has even led me to go back through old stuff. Both stuff that I’ve read and want to revisit and some old stuff that’s new to me. 

I’ve complained about cars a lot lately… both the concept of cars in general and my own car (although I may not have explicitly pointed out that last bit). I feel an explanation is in order. I’ve just been waiting to, ideally, ensure that it’s all over before I dug myself in for the post.

Last Thursday, May 3, marked the 30th anniversary of one of my all-time favorite albums ever made… Living Colour’s debut Vivid.

Yup, a few people did indeed guess last week’s challenge photo correctly. No, you didn't need to get as specific as “Superman.” How could you? Alas...

Being that Instagram is my only social media outlet of late, I’ve actually gone back through my feed of, oh, 3,810 posts...

I tried two new things with this video. I’m pretty proud of the results. First, did you know you can record video right from the screen of your iPhone? Yep! And I did! Second, I also did voiceover narration of the video through iMovie. 

At work, we have a committee that I’m on called Thrive. It’s dedicated to providing information on and creating events that promote health and wellness, not just physical, but mental and emotional as well.

I’ve been listening to a lot of metal and punk music lately. It’s really been filling a de-stressing need I have. So this shot of Nathan from October 2016 channeling his Sid Vicious-ness fit the mood perfectly. 

So I started a video today and actually thought I’d finish it until I realized I needed to record narration.
