I swear my kiddo kills me on a daily basis. And I don't mean literally, of course. He's just funny. Sometimes it's intentional, sometimes not so much. Here are a couple gems from today...

While I apologize for giving you two photo-based posts in as many days, I just started down Memory Road in Flickr when I saw that nine years ago (give or take a few weeks), Katie and I were at Naper Days watching Matthew Sweet perform live under the stars. 

Been collecting a few photos on my phone I’ve been wanting to share. 

Cinderella and I go way back. And I don't mean the Disney or Grimm princess, either. I mean the glam metal band. They're actually one of the first glam bands I really began to jive with after my self discovery of music kicked into full gear in middle school.

As stated, I saw Hereditary last night. As much as I wanted to see it, I was severely let down. Just meh. However, I did get to see some fun trailers beforehand. 

My personal return to the horror movie genre continues in about five minutes with the Toni Collette starrer Hereditary. The trailer for this movie terrified me and I can’t explain why because it really didn’t tell me much about the plot of the film.

As you may recall, Katie and I started watching Alias. We’re now at a point in season one where there is a two-part episode in which a burned SD-6 agent named McKenas Cole comes to exact revenge on his former agency.

By now I’m sure you’ve heard the stories about Amazon Echos freaking out. Like the one Alexa that recorded a conversation and sent it to coworkers. Or one that started laughing spontaneously.

At some point in time in the past, I marveled on my blog about the fickle and inexplicable nature of how people respond to posts on the web. They like what you don’t expect them to, and have zero reaction to things you think are well done or important or topical.

Yes, it was a lot of fun floating in an inner tube in our park district pool as the sun fell back in the sky on a Friday night while The LEGO Batman Movie was projected on a giant inflatable video screen.

In July, Katie, Nathan, and I are going to Wisconsin for vacation. Three days and two nights up in Christmas Mountain near the Dells.

After Nathan had a sports day at school about a month or so ago and said he enjoyed it, we figured it was a good time to sign him up for a sport. We gave him a choice between soccer, football (U.S. variety), and teeball as they were the ones that were taught at his sports day.

I’m not really sure that Orange is the New Black is really for us. It just wasn’t holding our interest. So we found something new. Well, new to us. 

While I already knew what day I wanted to go to the Pitchfork Music Festival this summer, I had yet to actually buy my ticket. 

Last week’s challenge photo was more difficult than I anticipated. But I love the photo so much!

If anyone ever tries to tell me that the pronunciation of their beloved sparkling water is equivalent to /luh-KWAH/ ever again, I will smack them.

It’s so utterly pointless to go into Netflix with no idea what you want to watch. You don’t even need a specific movie or TV show in mind. Not even having a genre in mind can bite you in the butt.

I gotta admit that creating and editing that rank order list for Star Wars films and TV shows (that I’ve seen) was a lot of fun. I think I may try to do it more often with groupings that work logically. I may even make a page dedicated to these rankings to make it easier to find and edit for you and me.

Last week, Katie and I played the role of cool kids and binge watched both available seasons of Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix. 

Why the “1” appended to the title of this post? Because I’m hopeful this is going to be the first in a series of posts detailing additions to my cassette collection. 

I told you last week’s challenge photo was too easy. 

It has been a month since my qualified personal removal from the world of social media. How’d it go? Well, that depends on how you look at it. 

I’ll admit it, I really love Screen Recording in iOS. I’ve been chomping at the bit for this functionality for years because of how easy it would make it to demo things on my phone.

Not only is today a goal check-in, but it's also Nathan's final day of preschool... ever. Seriously! Where did the year go? Where did the last five years go?? We now have a kindergartener. To quote Dr. Sam Beckett, "ho boy."
