Why the “1” appended to the title of this post? Because I’m hopeful this is going to be the first in a series of posts detailing additions to my cassette collection.
You can’t fault optimism, right? Lord knows we need some.
Check out this haul I got at Half Price Books late last week. Even if I didn’t have credit there, they would only have cost $8.
Some gems here! Tesla, Barenaked Ladies, Britny Fox (anyone else remember them?), and Ratt.
But the creme de la creme of this grouping is Stone Temple Pilots No. 4. Why? It’s the newest having been produced in 1999. Not even 20 years old. Younger than my relationship with Katie. I didn’t even know pre-recorded audio tapes were still being made in 1999.
In 1999, I was full-blown digital media. CDs and a soon-to-be-made transition to minidisc one year later. MP3s happened about 2001 or ‘02.
And they’re all in really good shape. There’s a small audio glitch in Britny Fox, but it’s way too minor to ruin the experience.
This is fun!
