Nathan has a lot of fun with technology. Almost too much fun with it. As you know, he has started taking photos, wholly composed by himself. In addition to the few linked above, he has also taken a lot of toy photos on his iPad.

I honestly thought that I didn’t zoom in enough on last week’s challenge photo and that a ton of people would get it immediately. No one did. I zoomed in too much. Clearly. 

I get that technology dates itself and new stuff can’t keep working with all instances of old stuff. But it still sucks sometimes. 

It’s been a week, I’ve let it all settle in, and now I feel ready to recap my return to the Pitchfork Music Festival (day 3). I guess I could’ve saved this for Tu(n)esday, but, I needed a post so, well...

How many of you remember oh-so-many years ago when I ran a pre-Goodreads book review site called Fun With Dead Trees? Probably not too many, I would think. 

I found it kinda funny that Marty did a Throwback Thursday featuring a wedding since I’m doing the same. 

Wow! No Snippets since February?? Remember back when I did Snippets practically every Wednesday? Those were the days. Let's travel that road again, shall we?

I actually did have one correct guess on Facebook for last week’s Macro Monday challenge photo. Yes, I gave you all a fake clue. Sorry about that. I was curious to see if you all pay attention to what I write to accompany a posting. 

Don’t mind me. My brain is still recovering from the sonic boom that is Pitchfork Music Festival. I promise I’ll be back with something a little more substantive soon. 

So some Illinois kid visiting Seattle is upset that his MAGA hat was knocked off his head, taken, thrown to the ground, and spit on while the guy committing the crime hurled insults at him? He thought he should be afforded the right to wear the hat, reaction free?

I know I mentioned this on Instagram, but it bears repeating — over and over again, apparently — until people start to take notice... good proofreaders are essential, period. It doesn’t matter the reason or the time, use them.

Tonight was Nathan’s final night of tee ball. I figured I’d commemorate it with a video!

Kazza came closest to the correct answer on last week’s challenge photo with a guess of “Some weird monkey.” Shockingly she, of all people, did not guess LEGO monkey. She’s a LEGO junkie! It’s inconceivable! But this guess will have to do. 

Congratulations to France on their World Cup win. I admit I didn’t watch any of the World Cup until today. Katie was really getting into it so I watched some with her although I was rooting for Croatia. 

This past Monday, I finally started doing something that I’ve known for a while needed to begin again. I started going for early morning walks with the intent of transitioning slowly into running. 

I realized something the other day. I already knew it, but it just didn’t click, as it were. I’m done driving Nathan to school and picking him up afterward. And, in another five weeks, I no longer have to drive him to and from daycare. At least not regularly. 

I had completely forgotten about this photo. We were in Arlington Heights in 2010 shopping for something or other when I noticed a shattered and abandoned skateboard on the sidewalk. 

Sorry, Apu. I meant to say "Slurpee." As in Free Slurpees! Why? It's 7-Eleven Day, y'all!!! Few finer holidays exist in this world!

I truly was shocked by the number of people who got last week’s challenge photo correct. Way to go!

When we're offered a free day, couple of days, weekend, week, or month with a free trial of a premium movie channel, we tend to pore (You see that, 45? "Pore," not "pour.") over the viewing guide and set recordings on our DVR. This was no different this weekend with a free four-day trial of HBO and Cinemax and all their varied offshoots. 

One thing I feel like I’ve missed out on for far too long has been the game Cards Against Humanity. It seemed like everyone I knew was playing it... and loving it... except me.

Bummer. The fireworks we usually go to in Batavia, IL, we’re canceled tonight due to thunderstorms in the area. Actually, I should say they were rescheduled to tomorrow night (when there is an even greater chance of rain predicted). 

It only took me seven months to read.

I survived It.

It’s hard to call this a definitive Macro Monday solution as it is a photo of an unknown succulent that Ren snapped at a restaurant. But here it is (cleverly titled, to boot).
