I broke out a Moleskine notebook I’ve had for a few years now. Katie bought it for me because it’s LEGO themed and she knew I needed a new one as I’d filled my previous three Moleskines almost to the gills.

I'm not sure how closely you follow the news, but Disney was recently cleared to acquire 21st Century Fox, including the 20th Century Fox film catalog and rights to a lot of iconic characters. Oh yeah, and Disney already owns the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Translation: The X-Men and the Fantastic Four and the Avengers can finally work together, like they always have in the comics.

If you’ve followed either my Instagram or Twitter accounts recently, you may have seen that we have a new houseguest. 

Another band that has been a part of my lifelong playlist is INXS. The six-piece team from Australia has been rocking my life since 1987 and, even in spite of frontman Michael Hutchence's suicide in 1997, I still listen to them on fairly regular rotation.

I guess this one was tougher than expected. I really expected at least one person to just throw out, “mouse laser!” Alas...

I started reading my next review book for GeeksOfDoom on Friday night... it’s Dracul by Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker.

Today, we all went to the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago. While normally we do our museum trip on his actual birthday, because Nathan is in school now, we thought it better to wait until the weekend.

I already had two videos very nearly ready for posting when, suddenly, I came up with an idea for a quickie video that I threw together in just a couple hours. 

Do you have a personal or family book library? If yes, does every book you’ve ever read win up in it? Just the best? Do you ever pare back your collection? 

I'm fairly certain I say a variation of this every year and will likely continue to say it until I can no longer say it anymore, but where in the heck did the last six years go??? Yes, Nathan is now six years old!

More tapes have been found and added to my collection! Some of these were mine and some were Katie's. But, yanno how marriage works. Heh heh.

I did get several people guessing that last week's Macro Monday Challenge Photo was some kind of sports ball. The most popular guesses were basketball and football (of the North American variety). Good thing, because the correct answer was a basketball.

Last Monday, Nathan started playing basketball through our park district. We had intended to sign him up for fall soccer, but all sections of that for boys were canceled for no good reason. Argh!

Shortly before Katie and I got married in 2001, CBS introduced a new entry in the Star Trek television universe known as Star Trek: Enterprise. I was pretty gung-ho in favor of it.

This past weekend, I broke out the remote control truck so Nathan and I could have a little fun. My neighbor, Greg, who is also an r/c enthusiast had some of his cars out as well as a couple friends over and they were tooling around with them all in his garage.

At least I think these are from 1995. Maybe 1994. Perhaps 1996. But no earlier, nor any later.

I keep finding myself having to explain to people how comic art can be a powerful conveyance of emotion. For some reason, they still don't always buy it. So how about I share some art I found on Twitter this morning commemorating the 17th anniversary of the September 11 attacks on our country.

I got several correct guesses on last week's challenge photo. I think the first two were Kazza and Marty. So congrats to both of them! But, yes, a cribbage board it is.

At one point tonight, the Chicago Bears were actually up 20-0 over their divisional rivals the Green Bay Packers. 

After a long day of swim lessons and re-organizing our media collection and nearly destroying our oven door (don’t ask), we decided to relax at home with the ol’ Nintendo GameCube. 

This morning, I woke up to begin my morning routine (minus the exercise element). I was in the bathroom when all of a sudden I see a black spot streak in from under the door.

I know I really stretch the envelope of how "Throwback Thursday" is defined with my posts. But I really don't care. To me, it's all about remembering something from the past; not just ruminating on an old photo that I took. I hope that's okay with you.

A few weeks ago, I lamented an underwhelming “anthology” of songs released by Prince between 1995 and 2010. Specifically, I was upset the entirety of Prince’s 2004 album Musicology was not there. 

Lots of people got last week’s challenge photo. I expected as such as I left the wrapper underneath it as a clue. 

We’ve had our ins and outs and ups and downs with home technology. We still love our Nest Thermostat E and have had zero problems with it. Despite being gung-ho when we first setup our WiFi outlets, we quickly fell out of love. And now we barely use the three Amazon Echos (“Echii”?) that we have.
