Taped 05...

This trio is a mother lode of musical goodness! Hand me downs of the best kind.

Faster Pussycat has been a preferred band of mine for a long time and is one of the few hair metal bands I kept listening to even when the world moved on to grunge and alternative and whatever the heck else has come and gone in this time. And Whipped is one of their best albums.

I have a hit-or-miss relationship with Rush. Sometimes I can listen to Geddy Lee’s voice for hours on end. Other times I need a few years off. Musically, they are without comparison. Right now I’m into them. And this is a great album.

If you wanna talk about one of my all-time favorite bands and albums, it doesn’t get much better than Queensrÿche and Operation: Mindcrime. There is not a single bad song on the album and this is especially great since The Rÿche’s albums tend to be one contiguous story instead of a collection of random songs.

La musique joyeux!

I've chatted with Marty Mankins about my love of the Rush synth era. Lots of underrated tracks on those albums. If you haven't already, have a listen to Between The Wheels off the Grace Under Pressure album

Grace Under Pressure was also available but I got this one instead.

That first Rush album stands the test of time, Pre Neil Peart style. As Kevin mentioned above, the post Moving Pictures albums are highly suggested listening.

Operation Mindcrime still has one of the best album closers "Eyes of a Stranger"

Neil Peart isn’t on the first Rush album??

Nope. John Rutsey was the original drummer. Neil joined after John left the band and before their second album "Fly By Night"
