It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally here! The Macro Monday Leap Edition! 

This has been a pretty incredible year for movies. So much good stuff has made it to the big screen and Katie and I have been able to watch a lot of it. A lot more than we normally would have. So I have plenty to choose from for Kevin’s 7: Movies list.

I know Elf on the Shelf freaks many people out, myself included. But Nathan really has taken to “Artie” the last two holiday seasons and, therefore, so have Katie and I. 

As in Reading While Drinking, to be alternately known as Reading Under the Influence or Reading Drunk. Whatever your acronymical preference, this is a reading challenge that MartyMankins, KevinSpencer, and I came up with tonight on Twitter and you’re invited to join in the fun!

I’m going to be honest with you, I really like the overall structure of the goals I set for 2018. So, for the most part, I’m going to stick with how it was set up but with some tweaking of the numbers. 

I’m starting to get severely creeped out by our Amazon Echo devices. 

First and foremost, Merry Christmas! I hope you and your family had a great holiday. 

I did have a few correct guesses on last week’s Macro Monday challenge photo and I’m pretty proud of them. I really worried no one would get it.

Music. My daily lifeblood. Since we started listening to a lot more music at work and I began contributing as the occasional Office DJ, it’s become even more important. None of us can do without it, honestly.

I was heading home from the theater — Katie sent me out to see Bohemian Rhapsody before it leaves the big screen — and I called to see if I needed to pick up anything before I got there.

A few weeks ago, my parents gave Nathan a LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar. Bear in mind that, aside from LEGO Star Wars shorts and the new anime-styled Star Wars scene recreations that air sporadically on Disney XD, my son has no knowledge of the Star Wars films whatsoever. Despite this, I knew he'd enjoy building the little micro sets because, well, LEGO!

When you have a job you love, putting in a little extra time at night and on weekends is not so big a deal. You love your company, you want it to succeed, you know that you play a role in that success. And my company gives me the freedom and technology to do just that. I can even work from home during normal working hours should the need arise.

Mark Rober... you're my hero! You deserve a Time Magazine Person of the Year award for this...

As I’ve been to record stores like Kiss the Sky and Purple Dog Records and book/record stores like 2nd & Charles (closing in a couple weeks) and Half Price Books enough to know their cassette inventories pretty well, I’m cobbling together a list of other local must-see places I’ve never seen to visit in the very near future. 

A handful of people got last week’s challenge photo, which makes me happy.

I’m changing things up a bit this year. As you may recall, my Kevin’s 7 lists are all Top 7 within their respective categories... save for TV. That list has always been seven random awards with a single awardee. 

No. This is decidedly not a post about insect prevention. It is, instead, a review of two of the movies listed as unwatched on my Rankings page. 

I have a list of stuff I can blog about. So much to do, so much to say.

I’m not sure how I came up with this idea but I thought a cool Throwback Thursday would be a look back at some of my earliest Macro Monday posts.

A couple months ago, Katie was home with Nathan and he wanted to use my water bottle to test dissolving rates of vitamins. How could Katie say no to his inquisitive mind? Thankfully, she recorded it. 

I’ve discovered that I have a few recent batches of additions to my cassette collection that have not been featured here. Would you be cool if I just do them all in one fell swoop?

2018 has been a fun year on the comic front. I’ve read 38 graphic novels, so far, of which most were ones I’d never read before and were not on the list last year. Heck, five of my seven books below are new to the list! I’ve just been picking up random books and enjoying the heck out of them.  

Nathan found Photo Booth on his iPad. Oh yes, he found it alright. And I see every last one on my iPhone.

This past weekend, we took Nathan to the Polar Express as we have the previous three years. But going to this event made me reminisce about past Christmases and how Nathan has aged in that time. 

As stated on Instagram, “Some greats this year... Barack Obama, Willie McCovey, Reggie Jackson, Hank Aaron, and... me? Only in number, not greatness.”

We got the news at 1:30 this morning. Well, actually, we were asleep when the email came in and the social media posts went live... Nathan’s school district was officially on strike. 

Ohhhhh, I stumped y’all with last week’s challenge photo, didn’t I? I wasn’t expecting that. 

Let the madness begin!!!! Yes, it’s actually time to begin my Kevin’s 7 year-in-review lists. I know I say this pretty much every year, but how are we here already??

This year is almost done! Holy heck. How did that happen so quickly. Time to start thinking of 2019 goals. Yikes!
