We went to see The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part today. First off, the movie is fantastic! I liked it so much more than its predecessor. Great new characters. Great story. Great visuals. Yadda yadda.
What wasn’t great was the lead-up to the movie.
Being a first week film, I expected (but dreaded) the idea of about 15 minutes of kids movie trailers that we’ve seen a dozen times already. I am seriously sick of trailers for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.
Sitting here waiting for the start of @TheLEGOMovie at @Cinemark Tinseltown. 20 minutes of commercials so far. Haven’t even started trailers yet. WTF?? Cut this bullshit, @MPAA. Kids can’t take this crap.— ❄️ ᏦᏗᎮᎶᏗᏒ ☃️ (@kapgar) February 10, 2019
That is freaking ridiculous. Nearly an hour after it’s scheduled start, we finally got to the film. And Nathan was antsy as hell and our snacks were nearly depleted.
Something has to be done about this utter load of horsecrap. Kids can’t handle 2.5-3 hours at a theater.
Pushing me ever closer to just staying at home...
