Kevism: TP...

I get a lot of people asking why I choose Spotify over other services like Pandora or Apple Music. I'm not going to focus on the negatives of the other services and will, instead, focus on one of the biggest positives of my chosen streaming music service... It gets me!

I know that may sound a little strange, so let me explain.

Spotify creates a series of Daily Mixes based on listening habits. And they try to cluster the songs so that they're similar and you can, for lack of a better way to describe it, "play your mood." And they're almost always perfect (I found this article after determining that "it gets me." I swear!). Heavy stuff all together, shoegaze all together, Nathan's stuff all together, Katie's stuff all together. The list goes on.

Today, I knew I wanted something engaging that would keep me going because I'm struggling to get a lot done at work today and wanted musical accompaniment but not something that would be intrusive and distracting.

I found Daily Mix 4 with Vampire Weekend, Phantogram, Dirty Projectors, Little Dragon, Built to Spill, STRFKR, Beach House, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Modest Mouse, Twin Shadow, Matt and Kim, St. Vincent, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The Flaming Lips... so far.

This works for me right now. Perfectly. Not a single bad song in the bunch.

Sure, this probably would've worked better as a Tu(n)esday post, but credit where (and when) credit's due.
