Just as I feared might happen, my phone repairs are not done and I have no access to Instagram, which is the key to me being able to post Macro Monday. So, instead, you will be getting my September Goals a day early. Actually, it's only a few hours early, technically. 

In an attempt to fend off buying a new iPhone for a while longer as I'm not at all impressed by any of the new features enough to go all spendy spendy, I'm going to take my iPhone 7+ in for some work tomorrow on the one thing about it that's been bugging me... that I cannot reliably charge it because the charging port is FUBAR. 

To help celebrate one of his cousin’s birthdays today, Nathan went ice skating for the first time. It was, um, interesting. 

Damn, son. 

My professional life revolves around quality assurance with websites, in case you were ever wondering. As I say to laypeople who don't understand what that means, "I do what I can to break a website, but not like a hacker would."

I was reading an interesting article about how celebrity book clubs have been giving a big boost to book sales lately. Clubs by the likes of Jenna Bush Hager, Reese Witherspoon, Noname, Andrew Luck, and, of course, Oprah have made big names out of (heh heh) no names. 

One of the coolest things about getting back into cassettes is watching as the culture rises up from the ashes like a phoenix. People who collected back in the day are finding their old stuff. Kids who should have no earthly idea what a cassette is are jumping on board. 

I really thought last week’s #MiniMusicMonday was gonna be a cinch. No one got it. Nadie. 

Yesterday, Katie asked if I would take a Crate & Barrel box back to the store to get it gift wrapped for a wedding shower today. She would have done it when she bought it, but she was in a hurry. 

I’ve actually really been trying this past week or so to get my steps up and hit my step goal as much as humanly possible. I need to work it in and make sure it becomes habitual like it used to be. 

So not only was yesterday Nathan’s birthday, but my coworker’s wife delivered twins that day. 

He’s seven! Freaking seven! How in the heck did that happen??

Lots of people got last week's #MiniMusicMonday challenge photo. I like when that happens. But the winners (again... because I cannot get an exact timestamp from Facebook or Instagram) were Eric on FB and Matt on IG.

There was a pretty interesting post a week or so ago on the Tor/Forge Blog about six fictional restaurants from SFF (science fiction/fantasy) novels that the writer would like to hang out at if they were real.

Nathan and I were downstairs cleaning things up before going up to bed when we heard something crash against our big window in the high-ceilinged living room.

As someone who has been overweight most of his life, has dieted, gotten to a “good” weight, put it back on, lost it again, lather, rinse, repeat and had bullies attack him the whole time, I want to publicly thank James Corden for his reasoned and honest retort to that bumbling sack of shit known as Bill Maher.

It’s kinda amazing how far toys have come since I was a kid.

I was picking up some groceries on my way home when Katie called me and said, “Your son loves The Cure.”

After years of goofy guesses on Macro Monday and #minimusicmonday, my buddy Steve swooped in with the correct answer to last week’s challenge. 

I have no idea how we got on the topic last week, but we were discussing birthdays at work. Being a creative bunch, we have a variety of ages overall, but I'm pretty sure a small majority of them are in their 30s.

For several years now, I’ve been using a title and end credit sequence on all my videos that uses a couple jester images a friend created for me. They’re animated with a Ken Burns effect that comes standard in most editors. 

I knew I wouldn’t be too far off my deadline for last month’s video. Just a week. 

Usually if I want to post a video on my blog, I wait until I have several and can set up a Snippet sort of post highlighting them all in one fell swoop. 

For some weird reason, Nathan has become an art junkie in the last month. He’s always participated in art projects in the past that are assigned to him. But now he’s doing it on his own in lieu of playing with toys. 

I made some trades and sold some stuff at a resale shop and managed to nab these beauties...
