In a bit of good news today, it was announced that Twitter will be banning all political ads on its platform rather than deal with with false and misleading ads being placed.

Today, Nathan was playing with some friends outside after school and I was out there talking with two of my neighbors, Mike, who lives to one side of me, and Mark, who lives to the opposite side. At the same time that I was talking to them, I was helping Nathan collect Nerf darts that he and his friends were firing... amidst piles of fallen leaves. So, yeah, I was trying to stay on top of their gunfight so, at best, we lost no darts.

My friend, Eric P (because I apparently have a lot of friends named Eric who need to be distinguished by a surname initial) got it with a partial guess on FB that demonstrated enough knowledge that I’m giving it to him.

Not that anyone was asking after Friday’s post, but here we are all dolled up and ready for trick-or-treating...

I love carving jack-o'-lanterns (or do you prefer "jack o'lantern"?). It's always fun to just sit down, take out a knife, and stab and cut at something repeatedly without fear of prosecution.
While I’m not going to reveal what our full costumes for Halloween are going to look like, I will give you a little teaser...

We went trick-or-treating in the shops in our town this evening. We do this every year and it always lands on a Thursday, I think, because the stores are open later on Thursday than any other night (and they do not want to do it on a weekend because our downtown is already jam-packed enough on a weekend without hundreds of costumed kids running rampant as well).
No, not "deflated" as in a Tom Brady football. I mean like my emotional state when I go in and watch a movie I loved when I was younger only to discover that it does not hold up well.

On Sunday, Nathan and I went to our local park to have some 1:1 Nerf gun wars. While we were there, a guy and his son came by with a medium sized styrofoam box containing this...
Man! Kevin Spencer nailed it with his guess on last week’s #MiniMusicMonday! Nine inches worth of nailing, in fact. And didn’t I tell you yesterday’s post would make my choice of subject make that much more sense?

Thirty years ago today, one of the most influential albums of my life was released. That would be Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate Machine.
I started sifting through my posts in Typepad and found that I had more than a dozen unpublished posts from the last 11 years. I'm not sure why I never used them, but I didn't. So I'm going to, on occasion, grab one and publish it unedited just to see how it goes over. That cool? I may add a photo or image of some sort because I try to make sure all posts have an image for the sake of making RSS aggregation prettier, but otherwise. I'm starting with one that I drafted back on September 8, 2008, at 6:55:50 p.m., at least according to the timestamp.

If there's one thing you certainly can argue, it's that I'm definitely not overusing the Snippets concept in 2019. It's mid-October and only my third Snippet post of the year? Sheesh. And I used to post Snippets nearly weekly back in the day.

I think English is an absolutely ridiculous language. Nonsensical rules, multiple ways to spell effectively the same word, indecisiveness on punctuation... and so much more wrong with it.

One of my favorite things about Instagram is discovering an absolutely amazing photographer who also shares their skill for all on IG instead of just the professional photography sites. I mean, I really don't follow the pro sites anymore at all. Not even Flickr and I still, technically, use Flickr.
If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen a poll I posted asking you to choose one of four bottles of single malt scotch.

I'd like to use this post to say Happy Anniversary to my lovely wife. We have now been married a legal voter's worth of years. That's 18 in case you need a refresher or live outside the U.S. with different voting ages.
Considering how long it’s been since I’ve been regularly exercising, I like that I’ve done a lot of improvement on my daily steps. I reported back in September that I hit multiple goal 9 out of 10 and 12 out of 15 days.
[This post contains spoilers for Avengers: Endgame. Read at your own risk.]
As you all know, I do love my old GoPro Hero 2 action cam. It’s so much fun to use.
Ohmigod. Some parts of the U.S. are supposed to see upwards of a 50ºF drop in under 24 hours later this week and into this weekend with some areas seeing anywhere from 1 to 2 feet of snow in that time. Holy cow.

I’m gonna put it out there right now, I really love the Lil Nas X song “Old Town Road.” Both the original and the remix.

It's amazing how dependent I've become on my iPhone. It does everything for me from receiving calls and text messages to playing any and all games to taking and sharing photos to verifying accounts and storing passwords to entertaining me via Spotify or podcasts or audiobooks. It does it all. And, no, I still don't have it back.
