Pillows...

There are few things I hate shopping for more than pillows. You can’t truly try them out. They almost never have a trial period. And there’s such a ridiculous range of prices.

And yet we have to buy them anyway.

So we did just that today at Costco. A two pack of king size pillows to replace the two with which I’ve been suffering.

I don’t use the word “suffering” lightly. Just check out the difference between my old pillows in front and the new ones in back.

Yikes. It’s a wonder my neck hasn’t fallen to pieces.

My pillow is probably forty or fifty years old. It's the height I like it and never changes. I'll be devastated if I have to replace it.

They just don't seem to last that long, do they? We have a brand we love and buy over and over, but it only lasts a year or so. I guess it forces us to replace it ;) They are $$ though. Hope the new one is great!

40 to 50, literally?

kapgar

Yeah, my Sams Club pillows were little more than a year old. Two at most.

It was my mother's. I remember it was a little thicker than mine (which I also still own). When she eventually replaced it I grabbed it. I have no idea how long she had it, but I imagine it would have been either from when they moved into their house in 1972, or at some point during my early childhood.

Wow! That’s crazy, but cool.
