While a vast majority of the skits were little more than callbacks to his great characters from 1980-81, tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live hosted by Eddie Murphy was dead on and exactly what that show needed in an otherwise weak season.

Yes, there was more than just the classics. The family holiday party skit was amazing. Black Jeopardy made me laugh. I even enjoyed the stacked stage during Eddie’s monologue with the likes of Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, and Dave Chappelle showing up for cameos.

Lizzo’s musical performances were incredible and the cold open spoofing the recent Democratic debate was another star-packed affair.

From start to finish, this episode was great! Who knew that could even happen anymore?

So much agreement with Eddie Murphy's return to SNL. The skits were great and I laughed hard through most of them.

Wasn’t it great?
