Tu(n)esday: Gigaton...

Finally! After nearly seven years since the release of Lightning Bolt, Pearl Jam will be releasing their 11th studio album Gigaton on March 27.

I’ve been a Pearl Jam fan since the get-go. There have been ups and downs, like with any band, but I’ve always picked up their new stuff and enjoyed the heck out of it.

In fact, I think I may have been one of the only people I know who was a big fan of Lightning Bolt. Honestly, I can’t believe it’s been seven years since they’ve had a new album. It really doesn’t feel like it.

But no matter. A new album is due and in short order. I will be all over it. The first single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants,” will be released in the next few weeks.

I only wish that the announced tour had a stop within a couple hours of Chicago. Nope. No Chicago, no Milwaukee, no Madison, no Indianapolis, no Quad Cities, no Springfield, no Iowa City. The closest, so far, is St. Louis, about 4.5 hours away, under absolutely ideal traffic conditions.

Here’s hoping that changes.
