Woah...

“Woah” is right.

Yesterday I posted an embedded video copy of David Lee Roth’s “A Little Ain’t Enough” without watching it first.

That was a mistake.

I watched it just now and realized how horrifically offensive it is. Beyond just the excessive exploitation of the female body commonplace in 80s and 90s music videos, there was a dance line of little people. In and of itself, that’s not necessarily offensive. But they were in black face.

What the eff??

I do not remember this bit from the video at all and wish I’d never seen it because it does sour the intent of my post yesterday which was to celebrate a song I’ve loved for a helluva long time.

I really don’t know what to say other than I’m truly sorry and hope I didn’t offend anyone or imply that I support or stand behind such an offensive viewpoint.

I have removed the video.

As in David Lee Roth. Diamond Dave. The wild man with the high kicks and the distinctive gravelly voice. I have a strange history with David Lee Roth. I was more a fan of his band Van Halen without him...
