QuaranKus...
Happy National Haiku Poetry Day!
Today also doubles as the day when Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced that the 2019-2020 school year is officially over as we know it. Illinois students will not be going back to their school at all for the remainder of this academic year.
So I'm going to combine both the holiday and the announcement and give you a few quarantine haikus, or QuaranKus. Wanna join me? Post your QuaranKus on your blog, in the comments on this post, or on social media. Just make sure you tell me where to find them!
Here goes...
I’m working from home.
Nathan is learning from home.
This house smells like boy.
I miss all the toys
That adorn my desk at work.
Yondu is lonely.
Pajamas for some.
No pants at all for others.
Zoom upends the game.
I miss the fresh air.
My step count is pitiful.
My Fitbit hates me.
It just isn't fair
I have so much work to do
While others have none
So many dishes
Need to be washed every day
Cooking way too much

Stop stressing out, fool.
You’re going to hurt your soul.
It’s just not worth it.
Talking in haikus.
There is nothing quite like it.
Finger counting all.
