It may have taken a little poking and prodding, but, eventually someone got last week's #MiniMusicMonday. It was Ace Frehley, he of KISS fame, on one of his solo albums.

It's official, folks! That's Katie's shoe on top and Nathan's shoe on the bottom. 

When Katie showed me this meme the other day, I laughed and immediately said “42.” She didn’t get it.

Blew my mind earlier tonight to hear that Chadwick Boseman — the brilliance who starred as Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, and James Brown, as well as bringing to life T’Challa, also known as the Black Panther — died from stage 4 colon cancer at the age of 42, Jackie’s jersey number. 43.

Three years and six days ago was the big-deal solar eclipse that everyone and their dog across North America stopped to check out at some point during their day. 

I’ve not only been loving on some tapes lately, but sharing that love online as well...

I'm on a midnight site deployment for work and, aside from my laptop and other collateral to get stuff done, this is what's in front of me.

I found this gem of a shirt on Twitter today from Consequence of Sound. It made me laugh. I had to share. It’s supposed to be the concert t-shirt for the summer of coronavirus. 

Because I get my prescriptions from Walgreens, I’m subscribed to every email under the sun that they send out. Typically, I delete them sight unseen. But one came in today with the following subject line that caught my attention immediately...

Man, this whole HBO Max brouhaha is really starting to get to me. 

For the most part, I've held things together emotionally during this whole pandemic. I've kept it together because I'm the one at home with Nathan a majority of the time because Katie does not have the option to work from home like I do. So I try to keep a strong front while I'm with him. 

A ton of people got last week’s #MiniMusicMonday. I shouldn’t be surprised. As one person said on Facebook, the earring was a dead giveaway. 

There’s a lot of invective on social media these days. Mostly related to a Cheeto in an ill-fitting suit, but whatever. So it’s nice to have a conversation with a friend on social media that’s all fun, reaffirming why you took to, say, Twitter to begin with. 

I have always loved taking the time to wander around in bookstores and libraries and discover something new and unexpected. It’s more fun than knowing what you want, honestly.

I’ve paid very little attention to any sort of sports this season mostly because they’ve all either been canceled, postponed, or abbreviated to the point where they feel pointless. Don’t get me wrong, I miss sports, but I’ve missed them for years now. 

Three years and two days ago marked my exit from public sector employment after 11 years in municipal government. Tomorrow marks my third anniversary at what I hope is my forever job. I can only hope they feel the same way about me. 

After far too many years languishing with a spotty internet connection as provided by AT&T Uverse, we finally made the jump yesterday to MetroNet.

It’s official! Joe Biden’s running mate for the 2020 U.S. Presidential election is California Senator and former Attorney General Kamala Harris. 

Uh oh, another #MiniMusicMonday with no guesses. Not even wrong ones. Not even jokey ones (what gives, Steve??). And the person who gave me this tape clearly didn't get it either. I am so sad.

One thing I’ve noticed when going out on walks or trekking across the occasional parking lot or stopping at a busy intersection is that the regular assortment of outdoor litter is now being supplemented or supplanted by face masks.

I’ve bitten the same spot on my lip no less than 14 times in the last 36 hours.

Katie and I have spent the last several nights rewatching the Jason Bourne films. We did not include The Bourne Legacy as it was not Matt Damon and “rewatch” does not apply to Jason Bourne, which we were watching for the first time. 

Bronze statues have always freaked me out. They have what I like to call “dead eyes,” which refers to how the sculptors hollow out their pupils to make them seem more lifelike. It’s the opposite effect with me. 

If there's one show that Nathan has watched in recent history that I've enjoyed more than any other, it's clearly Phineas and Ferb. Two brothers finding something new to do on each of their 104 days of summer vacation?

I've gone a little hypocritical here in that, despite (or maybe "in spite of") my antiracist cries, when it was announced that the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company was retiring their Native American "maiden" logo, Katie and I may have gone online and ordered some maiden-adorned apparel. Please don't judge us too harshly.
