Yesterday, Nathan found the 2006 live action Charlotte's Web on Netflix and turned it on. As I had never seen it before, I was watching over the top of my laptop. Decent enough film. Julia Roberts was a fantastic voice choice for Charlotte.

Towards the end where Charlotte is about to die and Wilbur is throwing out any spitball of an idea he can to save her to see which one sticks (I pray after nearly 70 years that this is not some kind of ridiculous spoiler... Charlotte dies! The Titanic sinks! The Allies win WWII!), my son proved just how much he is my son.

"Hey, Dad, if Wilbur wants to save Charlotte, why doesn't he just let her bite him and then she'll live on forever through him and he can be Spider-Ham!"

10 years ago today, the City of Naperville was preparing to commemorate the 9th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. It was beautiful and horrible all at once. And tomorrow will be the 19th anniversary. My god.
