Overstock...
I decided to work from the library again today. Just a chance to get out of the house and get some fresh air on the balcony.
After I finished my tenure there around 1 pm, I looked for some new reading material. I found one book that sounded interesting so I checked it out.
Have you ever looked around your library to see if they have a shelf of overstock material? This is the stuff that either they order too much of to meet early demand that eventually dwindles. Or maybe it’s just a book that hasn’t gotten much love from library patrons so they phase it out. Whatever the case, my library now has an entire section of these. So I checked it out.
About five or more years ago, I checked out the first issue of a comic called Bandette by Paul Tobin and Colleen Coover. It’s about a young woman who is the world’s greatest thief (step aside, Selina Kyle).
I loved the first issue but never got around to checking out more and then I just fell too far behind.
Anyway, I looked on the library overstock shelf and found volume 2 of Bandette. I was pretty happy but would’ve been happier if I’d also found volume 1.
I looked down a shelf and there it was buried under some other comics! Volume 1!
I snatched both and will read my way into a new series (volumes 3 & 4 are expected to come out next year).
FUN!
