Zoom...

I typically work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This does not account for sometimes starting early or working late or having a late night or weekend deployment. Take out an hour for lunch and I work an eight-hour day.

For the last couple months, we’ve been in the process of switching over to a Scrum methodology for software development necessitating some long planning ceremonies on a weekly basis.

Today was one of those meeting days and said meeting lasted five hours. All on Zoom.

Tacked onto that was another two-and-a-half hour meeting. Still on Zoom.

I got an hour-and-a-half reprieve at the end of work for dinner and to hang with Nathan and Katie for a bit before heading into a two-and-a-quarter hour meeting for my Homeowners Association. Also on Zoom.

And I was wearing on-ear headphones all this time to minimize distractions for Nathan who was remote learning today and for both him and Katie so they didn’t have to hear a budget meeting.

All in all, after just shy of 10 hours, I’m Zoom’d out and my ears want nothing to do with headphones. Ever.
