Troopers...
Any of you who have been following me for a decade or more likely remembers my first foray into toy adventure photography... Stormin’ Norman, the LEGO Stormtrooper.
I loved taking pictures of him and tried to do so on a semi-regular basis for a couple of years. I’m not sure why I stopped, but I do still have him and he occasionally shows up in a photo with Yondu, my current featured toy.
But I’ll never stop loving Norman and Stormtroopers as a whole. That’s part of the reason why I desperately want to pick up a Star Wars Black Series 6” Stormtrooper. They’re highly articulated figures with detailed sculpts and are just plain awesome.
The problem is that they’re also ridiculously popular. I’d argue that Original Trilogy (not prequel clones or sequel First Order troopers or any of the variants like Scouts or Snow or TIE Pilot) Stormtroopers are the most popular Black Series figures around because of the so-called “army builder” collectors hoarding them and because there are no active-release Stormtrooper figures.
So, yeah, the prices get pretty high on the secondary market. But that doesn’t stop me from looking. And, when I do, sometimes I find really cool things that I would never ever consider buying but drool over all the same.
Like this fan-customized Black Series Zombie Stormtrooper...
How freaking cool is this thing?? Too bad it’s going for $75 with another $15+ tacked on for shipping. I’d be all over it.
Hey Norman... I remember him. Cooper Trooper was inspired by him, if I recall correctly.
