Gaga...

Katie discovered a new Oreo cookie the other day at the store and I thought I’d take a moment to give an unauthorized, uncompensated review of them. The type? LADY GAGA

Yeah, totally out of left field on this one, eh? I’m not even sure that Lady Gaga really had anything to do with these at all. The reason why I say that is because of a little note on the spine of the package...

“Inspired by Lady Gaga” reminds me of those soundtrack albums that had notes that said “music inspired by the film,” which had nothing to do with the film. They weren’t even played in the movie at all.

So, yeah, me thinks this is all Oreo/Mondelez and Gaga’s marketing division entirely. Maybe she signed off on it, maybe she didn’t.

But, whatever. On to the cookies.

The cookies have a pinkish hue added to the yellow “golden” cookie. I’m not sure if there’s actually a bit of a strawberry taste to them or if it’s a psychosomatic response to the cookie color. It kinda tastes like a muted strawberry, but the packaging says nothing about it at all.

The cookies have stamps on one side related to Lady Gaga’s new Chromatica album, which I still have not listened to yet. The other side is the standard Oreo stamp.

Inside is a Double Stuff load of green creme filling. Nothing special flavor-wise. Just good ol’ fashioned Oreo creme. And there’s nothing wrong with that at all.

All in all, not a bad cookie. I’m always a sucker for Double Stuf that I then peel open and merge together to make Quad Stuf or every greater. It’s a vice. Sue me.

I’m not sure how long these will be available. I wouldn’t guess long since Chromatica was actually released almost a year ago.

Enjoy! While you can.

Disclaimer: As stated at the beginning, this review is both unsolicited as well as uncompensated. It was mostly done out of boredom and because I’m a sucker for Oreo cookies.

I find the color combo off-putting.

kapgar

I won’t lie by saying it’s not odd.

Back in the day, you did not wear pink and green on Thursdays because it implied that you were homosexual. Where do they come up with that shit?

kapgar

Wait, what?? I’ve never heard that one before. --

I saw these and after checking that they are just regular flavor, took a pass.

kapgar

So maybe the strawberry essence was just psychosomatic?

Marty Mankins

I looked for these in several stores but couldn't find them. The size comparison... they are a good deal smaller than standard Oreos.

kapgar

They’re the same diameter as standard Oreos but thicker in the cream department. What are you talking about? Package size?

Marty Mankins

From that last photo above, the Gaga Oreo looks smaller diameter wise. Maybe it's just how I'm looking at the photo.

kapgar

There’s a little optical illusion there because of the offset. Maybe there’s a hair of difference but mostly the same.

Marty Mankins

Gotcha. Appreciate the clarification on that. :-)
